That's a fine example of 'stranger danger' right there. #morewinning

But no worries, as we saw a few days ago, mangled wires don't phase Rob.

:hello:

Checked the car out while it was here Ron. Looked pretty nice, subframe turned out good. It truely is a shame its being used as a shipping container.LOL Watch out Rob might get the teamsters involved.

^ Thanks Ron! The new subfr design is pretty stout IMO. The tub is also in good shape, I think. The rest needs some more work.

Good Times at the King Household

Dave and Rob rolled in about 11:30 Monday night and we stayed up till 3:00 doing the normal meet and greet that Ron S and I have made famous (to us anyway). Needless to say we did not get the early start we hoped for on Tuesday, but did make it up the NASCAR "home depot" kind of places.

What we did not get to do was get in Charlotte Motor Speedway, it was closed and locked by the time we got there around 6:00. We also missed the shops and venders we want to see. Once you get shopping with these 2, time just seems to fly. I did score a Woodward column, quick release, firewall bearing and mount.

Karting was a ball, apparently I suck as I was beat both times. Thinking about scrapping the SB2 idea and sliding in a straight 6, that way I will have an excuse when I am slow on the track.

We had a big fun and as always the time was too short. Took a little bit of the south with them when they left in the form of some apple pie and muscadine shine.

Between Nashville and Memphis the radio actually played clear. And down South they have some Rock and Roll stations:thumbsup: I think that tune may have come across the radio today.

What can I say. The sting of amazing hospotality continues. Payton and his wife Cheryl put up with us and made us feel welcome.

Geeze Payton how you live in those parts and don't have a NASCAR parts stash in your garage I don't know.

I woke up this morning and wondered why my right forearm was hurting.:headscratch: At that point I remembered my using the berm as a combo brake/turn to make a desperate pass to catch Dave.

I think you are plenty fast in the Kart, but shear will came into play. NO WAY IN HELL was I listening to Dave for 2000+ miles talk about his Kart sweep victory.:guns:

We thought we'd get to ashville and get a pick of the Hauler inf ront of the Biltmore but this was as close as we got.

I remember last night pulling off exit 161. We were like two kids.

Bad Ron Meyers like his Bling

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps39a0aa3b.jpg

We thought about it....... Really we did. The girl in the fieworks shop wanted to come out side and watch the show. She was stoked when we put the Bling on the 68. Her ex boyfriend must have had a Camaro. She was all "hell ya"

We made it up the road to Blairs where of course we were welcomed in for "stay as long as you want, sit down, want something to drink"

Look being part of this site of hanging out at any of the car events is partly about lvoing the cars and the adrenaline.

The other part is the people. I dind't really know Ron and Payton but they are great people and meeting and hangin out with them was really a highlight of this trip.

Same goes for Blair. He is a great guy but Dave is right he is my idol. Hey 15+ year ago he got T boned in a car and should have died. He came out fo it with two useless legs and now is in a chair.

But did that stop him? Did it make him bitter? F no. The guy went out and built some hand controlls and taght himself to drive without legs. Then he went out and set some NHRA SS records in his CJ Mustang he built. So yes he is an insipration to me everytime I get a chance to hang out with him.:king:

Last year Blair and I made a road trip from TN to Rodgers Minnesota to dyno my motor. He loves his road trips.

This morning, I think it was this morning we started our day out right. Coffee.

We made it from Nashville to Memphis recording 7.5mpg. I'm claiming a rookie driver win on this one since I crushed daves average of 5.5-6.5 over the last few states.

Pulled in and got some of the best fried chicken I've ever had.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps02f45d60.jpg

Anyway it's time to get back on the road.
