Thanks Jim. I figure since I'm getting better at it, I would go ahead and do some more just for good measure. I'm trying to finish up this hood fitment project. After getting the front edge tacked back on, we put the inner structure back in.

After we put the structure back in, we found that it too had the wrong profile. After looking at it and doing some hammer and dolly work, we decided that to make the front hood to grill gap good more material was going to need to be added. Since this is the case, no more cutting. I can fix the rest with the added material. We tacked a 3/16" rod to the front edge. This will allow us to grind the gap properly and even everything up.

Now that the round stock is tacked on it's time to finish weld the sheet metal front edge of the hood before we take it off again to weld up the round stock.

You guessed it, MORE Cutting!

If you remember from the previous pictures, the hood to fender gaps were also horrible. Now that the hood is close, it is time to address the side gaps. You guessed it, the solution is to cut the BRAND NEW fenders and weld them back together. I would really love to try something else, but it has to be done. Here's today's progress.

Wow I guess the gap was off! The two gaps look almost the same size on both sides of the metal you opened up. Very Nice.
