Great news Greg, and Congrats on the Good Guys feature ink.

SSLance 09-29-2018 09:25 PM

Travel safe Greg! Holler if you need any muscle unloading the trailer when you get to the valley.

I know enough people here now I'm sure i can find someone. ;)

gofastwclass 09-30-2018 07:33 AM

Very cool Greg, I'm glad you had a great time.

I might need help with doing Launch Control in the Porsche for getting it out of the trailer....

WSSix 09-30-2018 08:18 AM

Congrats on the coverage. I'd have chosen that as well. It basically immortalizes the truck and work CHRA did for future generations to draw inspiration from. Travel safe! Hope the move goes smoothly.

Thanks for posting that Skipper!

Pretty good looking primer if you ask me...... LOL

I love that it changes colors with different light. It's exactly what I saw in the color when my son Alex suggested it. In this photo it's lighter grey -- in others it's a darker grey with a hint of black/brown in it. I love that.

Great wheels and I really like that gold striping they added.

A example of how the light changes the color.

Good friends ...

Greg it was a pleasure to see you in Texas and your truck is incredible .... did Rudy clean that bug splatter off the door hinge? I know it was a crazy weekend being there with such great people but I will always remember the sincerity of a good friend, even if you like my sister better than me :) ... hmmm Lillard said the same thing, ouch!

Went back Sunday and took my nephew to the autocross where he got his first ride with Chris Wheelock in his 99 Camaro and my sister got a ride along with Mike Dusold, awesome weekend!

Call if you ever need anything

Was great to see you buddy! Sorry that I get pulled in about 99 directions....

You'd think by the things we say that we hated each other.... LOL

Mike Dusold is a class act! Glad she got to ride with him! Rudy rode with Nick Relampagos and you couldn't wipe the smile off his face with 80 grit!

Greg, got any new pics of those beautiful amps installed?

LOL --- of all the things I DIDN'T take a picture of. They're buried behind the seat back --- so you just forget about them.

Had to laugh when I did look at them --- the shop upholstered between them and on the ends -- you have no idea how they're mounted nor do you see wires etc.

Here's the music to me...... LOL

DBasher 10-02-2018 12:37 PM

Dude that’s a lot better then the last video you posted, lol.
Sounds exactly as it should!

Some guys are "shutterbugs" -- some guys are just happy to see stuff thru their eyes.... I'm the latter. I just don't take many pics -- too damn busy just enjoying the stuff we see and the people....

In the car hobby I've always said there are two kinds --- Greasers and Waxers.... I'm a greaser. I could care less about shiny paint... I want my stuff bulletproof and drivable.

Here's a pic of a few us going to some greasy spoon somewhere in god knows where.... most days I had no idea what state I was in let alone what city. I love the diversity of cars on these tours.

If you're on Faceybook --- from Left to Right -- Alan Pound - me - Jesse James (I built my '33 after seeing Jesse's) - Rod Parsons - Alan Miller (car will be for sale soon and it's bad ass and dead nuts reliable - all SpeedTech and quick autocrosser)

Sonar Chief 10-02-2018 01:28 PM

Hey I hear you ...

I'm a greaser too, that's why my car is going to be wrapped and not in paint jail for years and still not correct :bang:

Yeah both my sister and nephew had smiles bigger than their face after their rides, I was glad to be a part of it! They have a better appreciation for my car addiction and some of the guys' (let's just call them ... personalities) :thankyou:

waynieZ 10-02-2018 02:00 PM

Greg the truck sounds great. I’d love to do a tour one of these days. Hey Chief how are you doing?

DBasher 10-02-2018 02:41 PM

Oh I gotcha, Greaser. I was referring to the POS dirt missile video.... not at all the quality of the video production but the quality of the delivered product.

Here, I’ll simplify it for ya.

Nice truck! Sounds great!
:action-smiley-027:
Xoxo

Jesse has about 65,000 miles on that car now, he's a machine.

KWhizz stopped in this morning and I talked to Chris and Lynda over the weekend........I am so happy for you that the truck is everything it was supposed to be and more. Keep rolling that odometer over.

Interesting side note. I was cruising CHRAs website a couple of weeks back and noticed a familiar face in the crew. Mathew Harris is responsible for me making my career in this field. He wrote a letter to Hot Rod Magazine in 1997(I think?) about his time at Wyo Tech.....I signed up the next week. When I got to the street rod program, he was my instructor and I learned so much from him. I don't know if he worked on your truck and I haven't seen him in a long time, I hope he is well.

Jesse is just one fun human being --- I love him! We have so much fun dishing crap. I wish I saw him and John more often. Well hell -- there's a LOT of people I wished I saw more often.... but when your friends are spread out all over the country and on a couple continents -- you have to be content to just enjoy when you're together.

I don't know Mathew by name but may recognize his face..... I know there were a lot of "all hands on deck" to get this done in the time they had. This was by far the most trouble free and most enjoyable build I've had done. While I'd prefer to build 'em myself - those days are over for me.

PPG must be doing a “primer” Ad...... They asked to use the 40 for one of their print Ads..... This IS NOT the verbiage they’re going to use - that’s just a place holder....

I love the shot and the color. It makes for a great add. It would be nice in a frame without the print, in fact I have a nice spot in my fish room for it.

Am I the only one that thinks Greg and Charlie should do a TV show? That'd be a riot.

Rather than hijack that other thread this was posted in...

“...but the Porsche is fun as hell...... but NOTHING at all like the smiles I have driving my ‘40.”

————————————————————————————
Greg,

A lot of us here like hot rods, (especially your truck) as well as straight pro-touring cars.

So tell us why your little ‘40 puts those smiles on your face?
