The valve covers Tim has are all milled aluminum too...they arent sheetmetal fabbed. They had a plan to start to make them for production but it never really panned out. Unfortunatley his is the only full set he has...so that ship has sailed

As for valve covers.....my plan right now is to go with the Billet Technology ones...

I'm not too keen on dropping $1k on valve covers either but there just arent many alternatives. I plan on remote mounting my coils and all the other companies have the coil mounts on the covers....Indy cylinder heads have some that are for remote mount coils set ups, and are a bit cheaper, but arent as nice. Billet Tech can make them without the coil mounts, so right now at least, its my best choice.

Jeff Davis at Precision looked into doing the valve covers but the bottomline is that it just isnt financially feasible. The cost to design and then make them just isnt supported by the market...the market is just too small to make it a good business decision for him.

As for progress on the car....... my intake should be done in the next 2 weeks, so I'll post when thet comes. Jeff is still working on it and the remote coil mounts arent back from the waterjet yet.

Made a radiator/upper valence panel to fill in that "void", not done with that yet.....

Started to mock up some exhaust stuff.....got some 3 inch and 2.5 inch pipe to try some stuff out...bought a Dr Gas x pipe...... still trying to decide on a muffler

Been screwing around with getting all the FAST Xfi computers mounted...been struggling with that ALOT...have made 3 different mounts in 3 different locations and havent been happy with any of them so far...just cant find a spot I''m happy with that wont get in the way of something else ( ie loses the glovebox completely...makes running the AC ducts near impossible etc etc) I think I have a final location and mount figured out but its been alot of wasted time on messing with that....trying to think 4 steps ahead so I dont have issues down the road.

Had to swap out my Moser rear diff cover for a "smaller" one.... I got the big one with girdle support etc, but when I put the gas tank back in, the fuel fittings hit the diff cover, so that $150 cover had to go...back to a more "stock" style without all the big braces etc, thankfully that solved the clearence issue. This was the first time I tried to put the tank in after swapping the stock diff for the Dana, so I had no idea until this week...kinda freaked me out at first that I was going to have to notch the tank or something but going to the stock style cover is way easier and cheaper.

I think that about covers it right now.... I'll take some pix and post when the intake arrives....thats a big step :)

I stand corrected.... I though he was using the ones TJ was trying to get into production....Bob, did you do the CAD and machine work for the ones TJ was working on?

Yeah I've seen the Granatelli ones......seems to be about the going rate...the price I'm gonna have to pay makes me sick to my stomach....

he made fabbed ones first, then he macined a set.
I did the CAD work. Someone else machined them.

scroll down a little on that page and look at the 5.4L ford covers. THe hemi covers are cheap. :wow:

That's what I'm talking about! I love those covers. I would like to see some of these available to the Hemi guys. I'm not all about the billet (not sure why, just not feeling them), but these are awesome!!! I wonder if Tim would be willing to build any more???

Those Granatelli's are crazy expensive. Eventually I'll have to pay the $ if I want something besides the ugly's I have, but I sure won't like it.

How are you going to relocate the coil pack's Ned? Are you planning to use the Indy kit or come up with something on your own?

Jeff is making me some brackets to go under the manifold. I'll post some pix when everything is finnished.

Well.....finally some updates.... alot has happende over the last 8 months....just havent got around to posting anything....then I got side tracked getting the Camaro back on the road and havent messed with the Cuda in almost 4 months.

So...... took the car over to Rob's house to fab up the exhaust. Since he has a lift in his shop we figured it would be way easier than working up on jackstands...and it was. Even up on a lift, it was a PITA. Big thanks to Rob for taking time away from his family and his own project, to help me out

The exhaust turned out pretty damn good for some first time exhaust builders. I bought quite a few bends from Columbia River, and I decided on the Spintech Sportsman 3000F mufflers.....hope they arent too loud :) The pipes are a tad off center in the tunnel but its pretty damn close.
