Got it - thanks!

I was going to (and still may) use a Woodward column in the '69 but got sidetracked talking to rally guys about EPAS setups...

Oh... Get the car done already,

So for the good of all following along, I'll do the noble thing and try to resurect this thread. Dave came down this weekend and he, Rob and I met down at Brett's shop. My first time there, I could tell from the previous shop pics I'd seen of Fab 53 that the shop has come a really long way. The place is set up for just about any fabrication project you possibly could want.

Looking at Dave's car compared to the last time I saw it I was in awe. The stance, parts, effort and money that has gone into this thing is incredible. It's raw, well thought out and just hardcore-nasty-cool.

Of course, Dave'll never be able to keep the tires connected to pavement long enough to make a dent in his lap times but that just can't detract from how cool this car is, or how many points he'll lose at street car events

I'll let Dave tell the rest of the story but here's a pic of Dave trying to fit into his racecar seat. He's trying to exhale and talk at the same time (typical), doing neither well:

Fun times at the shop today with Ron, Rob and Dave. They will have to tell ya about my new discount deal. Basically if you can beat my time of 31.9 sec around the shop on the shop 88cc pit bike you get a 20% discount. funny shiat right there.

Anyway, a few updates on Dave's project.

3.5" dual round exhaust that's tucked up under the frame line under the car and exits out driver side quarter panel. Provision is planned for a secondary exhaust muffler behind the driver seat area. All the exhaust tubing is enclosed behind a fire wall separating oil tank, exhaust and driver compartment.

looking good Dave.

^^ thank you my 44.xxx sec friend for visiting today. Your name has been added to the shop leader board. Had a great time. Thank you for the kind words about the shop progress. FYI.... Jeffrey (my 14 year old son for LatG) came down to the shop after you left... not only did that NASCAR seat fit him perfectly, he hopped on the pit bike a drop a 31.98 time around the building. You boys have some practice to do. :popcorn2:

When you say practice, you mean I need some contortion practice?:headscratch:

Wow Dave, are you feeling ok?
Your going to need to drive that thing with ear plugs in.
Did you buy a racing suit with the cooling option. I think it's going to get hot in there.

That exhaust if bitchin.

....but what if the sound check station is on drivers left?

57hemicuda 03-03-2014 06:03 AM

From one guy who has just one exhaust tip exiting behind my ear to another, "what did you say, I didn't catch that, huh" get used to it. You notice on my new build, the exhaust goes out the back, and yours has bullet mufflers. Hearing isn't near as important as people think.

Do love the direction the car is going, and the work Fab53 is doing looks phenomenal. Can't wait to see how that SB2 works out.
