Hey thanks a lot! The radiator is an Entropy LS conversion.

Good garage day ... did some body work on the extension and the header, I'll put some epoxy on these tomorrow, the wrap definitely shows the imperfections just as paint does ...

More experience w the vinyl on the wiper valance, this one was tough, had one Mulligan but overall came out great, take a look ...

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/I6xiZJ.jpg
Still have to cut the slots out ... this is one tough part to wrap cuz of the vents mainly.
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/25hwUF.jpg
Coat of epoxy and wrap them just like Christmas!

I'm gonna make some waffles now, thanks for looking ....

waynieZ 03-17-2017 07:59 AM

I have trouble putting tape on Christmas presents straight, your doing a nice job . Keep at it!

Thanks Wayne, this wrap thing is pretty cool once you learn how to read the tension of the wrap .... more to come!

Thanks Mikael, I'm trying ...

The obligatory photo shoot ... after I finished the body work on the front valance and extension I noticed I'd sanded through the primer on the driver's fender ... so it got primer also.

Thinking I'm getting better at body working these parts ... finally!

Mo better ... shiny!

So once these are dry I'll wrap them and get the front sheet metal installed :D . Getting closer, thanks for looking ...

Sonar Chief 03-18-2017 09:30 PM

Hey looking like a Camaro again ... finished wrapping the valence and extension and bolted the parts to the car, still need to gap the front but that's another day

Your are welcome Steve!

Thought I'd post up a FYI ... for those that have removed all those GM push pins/tabs from the surround trim from the back and upper front windscreen. Well, they don't go back in ... so after multiple trips to Fastenal, I found these that will hold the trim in place. They push in and then you screw the post in so if you need to remove them you can.

Take a look ...

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/ylTCM8.jpg
Oh yeah, these won't RUST!!!
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...923/HPAqwg.jpg
Original GM pins ... won't go back in as designed.

Well, just waiting on my rear rims to show up today and she's all ready for the trip back to Colorado, I'll be absent for awhile ...

waynieZ 03-23-2017 06:38 PM

Good to hear you'll be ready for your trip.
I was going to check with my body guys supplier on those clips, I wasn't sure they made them anymore.
Be safe.

Sonar Chief 03-24-2017 04:12 PM

Off jack stands!

The General must have had a tool or something for the metal clips ... I couldn't get the sides crimped and then push them in at the same time, so these plastic ones will do. Afterall, it's just for the headliner tension.

Well she's ready for the transport .... big thanks to Vince for getting my rims in just in time. The backspacing came out perfect and I won't have to trim the lip, cool!

I did run into one problem ... she wouldn't roll, the passenger side parking brake was too tight against the drum. I adjusted the stop plate in as far as she'd go but still too tight so I took out the brake assembly for now, I'll worry about that later.

She's heading to Colorado tomorrow, and then I have to clean the garage, thanks for looking ...

glassman 03-24-2017 04:56 PM

I'd say so, a 73 Ferrari Daytona and a fully restored Chevy Cheyenne 4x4 w oak bed, which sounded great by the way ... the 20" Grabbers were a bit much, but the resto was done with detail!

clill 03-26-2017 06:05 PM

Who did you use ?

Enclosed Vehicle Transport contracted DBAC, INC. out of Pine Bluffs WY.

I feel very good about the transport company, the driver and equipment were top notch, my Camaro is in good hands. I wouldn't let just anyone take my Camaro ... and I would have cancelled the contract if I didn't think this so!

The 73 Ferrari Daytona was sweeet ... yes, I touched it!

glassman 03-26-2017 08:55 PM

I didn't make the show today either. I did yesterday though, on a whim, I went midday on the invite of a friend.

Good luck with the move. Hope to c u in Colo

waynieZ 03-26-2017 09:19 PM

Chief, how long for it to make the trip? Nice clean equipment.

syborg tt 03-27-2017 07:39 AM

So who is going to be doing the paint in Colorado ?

Wow I didn't realize your wrapping the car.

That is so cool

Update 6/9

It's been some time since I updated this thread ... relocated to Denver first of April and started job searching, meanwhile the Camaro is safe and sound at Kevin's shop waiting on me to get back on track. So I have been helping out Kevin with his 68 Camaro build and had some time to work on my Camaro a little today ... had previously pulled the parking brake shoe off the passenger side cuz it was so tight the car wouldn't roll.

What APITA, not wanting to pull the entire C6 hub back off the axle flange to install the hold back spring on the shoe I cursed and with some persistence I won! That spring had some tension and would slip out from one side while I put pressure on the other side and the middle wouldn't go down into the shoe (insert curse words) ...

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/mlzhUF.jpg
She's safe and sound here under cover!
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/D1Gh8W.jpg

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/xFyrvh.jpg

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/wRHpWv.jpg
This is the culprit ... the hold back spring that fits inside the shoe between the hub and backing plate w 1/8" clearance, grrrr!

And the HF jack failed and the car came to rest on the gas tank, yep ... dented the new tank a little.

So I'm here in Denver and start my new job with CDOT this Monday. Hope to see some guys for the PPIR OPTIMA event, thanks for looking ...

Mikael A 06-10-2017 04:19 AM

Very cool looks like a nice new home for her. Congrats on the new job

GregWeld 06-10-2017 05:52 AM

Never trust your life and your car to the chinaman built jack my friend..... never. Losing your fingers or hand - or life - to a cheaply built POS..... yeah that's just not the place to save money. Tools such as that are one time - lifetime purchases.

While they can all fail.... you're odds probably rise exponentially with the "more money you saved"...

I place a higher value on my well being than that.

Sorry it happened. Now order a Hein-Werner or similar.

Beware the "assembled in the USA" vs MADE in the USA.....

Norco is also a top contender - made in Taiwan.... but is a great piece of equipment that I trust my fat ass with.

dhutton 06-10-2017 06:03 AM

This is a great US made jack:

waynieZ 06-10-2017 11:52 AM

Hi chief, Glad to hear from you. It must feel good being settled in with a new job. Now you can get back to living and your car.
Sucks about the jack, at least you didn't get hurt.

Sonar Chief 06-10-2017 02:45 PM

Thanks guys, already started looking for a new jack ... I pressed the car up and then went to get the stands and it lost pressure and rested on the tank, not bad thou ... still pisses me off!

Been helping Kevin with his 68 Camaro that's at the pre-body shop guy [works at body shop during the day] got the DSE roll bar all set and welded in and just finishing some seam sealer and then it's coming back to Kevin's to get the undercarriage detailed and painted ... that's where I come in :hello: The body shop will be ready to take the car end of June, I think, and she'll get her top coat and stripes then back to assemble the car at Kevin's shop.

Keeps me outa trouble and I'm still working on cars ...

clill 06-13-2017 07:45 PM

I bought this trans jack from Harbor and love it. With coupon it was about half of anybody elses.

Mission accomplished!

Thought I'd update my thread with the latest where about, I have been helping my buddy with his 68 Camaro rebuild. My task was to get the underside all cleaned up and in epoxy so we could Raptor bedliner, (my bad) the wheel wells and get her off the rotisserie. Mission accomplished!!!

Came out pretty darn well, Kevin applied the RAPTOR lining, take a look!

http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...922/WoexOV.jpg
Second coat of epoxy drying!
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/mMP7XX.jpg
RAPTOR lined the wheel wells front to back and the tail panel got some too!

Yeah that's my Camaro sitting under the cover! ------>>>>>>>
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/102...924/k3IfVq.jpg
That's just a cool picture!

I helped Kevin get his baby ready for the body shop, got her off the rotisserie and sitting on stands, should be getting the suspension under her next weekend!

My boys (and a girlfriend) will be here tomorrow for a week so I'll take a break from Camaro's and spend some time w family camping and fishing!

Thanks for looking ....

glassman 08-06-2017 05:54 PM

What?!? Camping and Fishing???? I guess you'll have plenty of time to finish this beast come winter?

Cant wait to see it done....anyways, have fun, stay safe!!

:thankyou: she is very clean, had some fish eyes on the first go round so sanded and re-coated with epoxy, she's got two nice coats before the RAPTOR liner.

Kevin .... don't know why I kept saying Rh...o liner, IT'S RAPTOR bedliner!:computer:

Mikael A 08-07-2017 05:16 AM

Looks great..I am putting raptor in the same exact areas.

Nice and clean! I like the idea of the Raptor liner in the wheel wells.
Have a good trip.
