I have to start checking this thread more often. The Panteras and the Biscayne/Impala builds are cool if you are into great lines or classic iron, but the 75 Firebird is where it's at. I have a 74 and these are the forgotten years. I am hoping you can pull off one of those hood concepts. The one that is on there now has too much going on.

The Firebird has a lot more custom work done on it. A lot of the exterior mods will be to eliminate the mid 70's plastic look that these cars had. The owner is also into the Italian sports cars and wanted more of that vibe on the inside of the car.
The hood is one that we were racking our brains on. The customer had to have the shot gun style, forward facing Firebird scoops because he had a 75 Firebird in high school. The car came in with the Firebird scoops and the T/A shaker hood scoop. It was the first time we had seen that done before... The car had a 502 in it and the entire carb was through the hood with the stock GM intake and a small air cleaner on top of it. That was the reason for the shaker hood. The new build has a 572 with a higher intake, nitrous plate kit, and needs a sizable air cleaner on top of it. So, we are dealing with 15 lbs in a 5 lb bag! Having the forward facing scoops really makes the rest of the hood complicated since it needs to be raised about 6 inches in the center to clear the carb. We will see how things progress once we get into it!

Not sure on the color. The owner thinks that it is a House of Colors take on the original 1964 Granny Gold color. He bought the car already painted so I can't say for sure... and we just had all that color media blasted off!

Thank you, my 65 is granny gold (seirra tan) and it's just that...a bit too granny. Looking for something similar but a bit more modern. The 64 looked a bit more copper in color, is why I asked.

Thanks again, and as always nice work

Some of us might remember that Ponch/Eric Estrada had a TA with that hood.

It needs a cross ram setup with the airboxes lining up with the hood scoops.
