Just got back from Dyno week and came up with some new questions. |
Tony Oddo finished up the "refresh/repair" of the Mustang motor. Dyno sheet is just maybe half a horsepower lower than before. I'll take that! :D

Since you granny shift at 4800, what's the peak power matter to you?

Yeah.... Charley told me that things last longer and are less expensive if I don't wind it out every shift. Obviously he lied! I only drove the car 3 times and I'm having the motor rebuilt - the tranny is worn out... and needs dog gears and something else... and I've blown through 2 sets of tires. WTF -- from now on I'm going to start to drive it hard! |

Yeah -- that whole shifting thing is an issue....
McGee just called ---- Turns out that I also have cracks in my shifting forks! So it's a good thing I asked them to tear into the tranny. Lose one of those and we'd have a major issue! The dog rings not so much - but pieces breaking and going into the tranny (meat grinder) wouldn't be a good thing. So $1500+ in tranny parts can be added to this little excursion. The motor refresh was actually cheap IMHO @ 6 grand. Funny -- the ONE valve -- $130 bucks! |
