I don't know about that AJ... I know of a couple of '' OLD SCHOOL '' small blocks that can lay the smack down on alot of these LS motors. I think Tony's car is going to fool alot of people,,:D You are right though they do seem extreamly dated now that the LS motors took over.

WOW that's a statement ...... I don't know about that but he's got a nice above average driver done pretty nice that he can show off if he wants.
I'm sure it will need a little of this and that but he should be rocking in the right direction now.

awr68 12-01-2010 10:02 PM

Ok funny guys.....

Here's a few pics....nothing special, it's just a garage! :)

This is the side I worked on last year.......

Before

http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...0665Medium.jpg

After

http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...0674Medium.jpg

awr68 12-01-2010 10:10 PM

And here's what I'm working on right now.....

A before shot showing how the cabinets used to be.
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...e/DSCF1490.jpg

After a lot of thought I decided to move the uppers to the other side of the garage, move a couple base cabinets to the storage room/shed that's behind the third stall, and completely reconfigure my work area. Oh and move the sink and cut a door into the storage room where the sink cabinet used to be.
I had to do a ton of mud work on this big wall as I had cut it up quite a few times over the years adding electrical. For the most part I skimmed it after running all the joints and patches. It turned out nice.

http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...e/IMG_2836.jpg

awr68 12-01-2010 10:17 PM

And here's where I'm at tonight....

The ceiling is finally finished in flat white paint. I put the first coat of wall finish on today...actually just finished that! It will take one more tomorrow. It's a nice canvas color. It's kinda hard to see the differance between the walls and the ceilings...but they are a differant color.
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...e/IMG_2846.jpg
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...e/IMG_2853.jpg

awr68 12-01-2010 10:24 PM

Just a couple more....

My helper! :D
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...e/IMG_2837.jpg

And a couple shots of the close out panels I built on either end of the base cabinets. I still need to build a new bench top. My plan is for it to go over the close out panels and not use a back splash...I just want a nice big area to work on since I gave up quite a bit of counter top in order to make the space more Karma friendly! Also I need to pour and concrete step where I cut the new door in.
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...e/IMG_2848.jpg
Note the task lighting....and air regulator for the big air compressor that's out in the store room! ;)

GregWeld 12-01-2010 10:29 PM

Looks really nice Tony!

Can you explain to the average layman what all those "height enhancement apparatus" in the pictures are used for?? There seems to be quite a lot of ladders and scaffolding and step stools around... I didn't see any of those when I was viewing pictures of Rodger Lees garage space  :unibrow: :willy:

Actually I would bet money you have plenty of ass jacks around The Shed! :P

bulldog19 12-02-2010 03:03 AM

Looks great Tony! Will look even better when Karma is in there!!!

Spiffav8 12-02-2010 03:27 AM

Nice setup! I think you need to spend an extra week in Vegas next year working on my garage.

bigtyme1 12-02-2010 03:44 AM

It looks good Tony, Question. If you have the compressor outside does the cold weather effect it?

I have more step stools and ladders and 'ass jacks' around than anyone I know... and I use them.... because I have to!

BTW -- for those that don't know "us" -- I'm as height challenged as Tony...

Mark, it's not actually outside. I built a 10'x16' room behind the garage that's constructed like a house and uses two walls of the house....think addition. It's fully insulated and sheet rocked. It actually stays warm in the winter and cold in the summer months. Best of all the garage stays quiet....until you pull the trigger on a tool that is!

jy211 12-02-2010 08:08 AM

I hope you have the "talk" with your helper...You know which talk I am referring too right? If not, it's the one of NOT riding his bike between the cars or leaning the bike on the car...
