It would take bigger balls to show up at the Knott's Berry Farm Ford show with it ;)

That is one I don't see the need for. I was impressed with the first Hemi conversion I did back in 05, 5.7 truck motor went 12.4@113 with just a cam and a set of headers. I'm right in the middle of a Gen.3 Hemi conversion in an old truck, its an easy conversion, and I really beleive there is as much if not more potential for big power in these motors, as in the LS stuff. Hell the new 6.4's are 525 HP and you can pick them up new for $6900.

I am so over all the crying over the wrong engine in the wrong car.

Sort of with Ron on the Challenger and even though I'm a Mopar guy I'm not a purist by any means...horsepower is horsepower. The new Hemi's do make some serious power, have cross bolted mains, etc. PHR Mag just had their engine shoot out and a 417 CI 3G Hemi won the street division with 675 HP and 604 TQ on 10.5 CR. Not too bad! Not saying an LS isn't a cheaper, easier engine to build but I'm not sure if I see the point either. Plus on the Mopar side the value of that car just sank no matter if the LS is a better fit or not. If a race car yep---street car nope.

But that said, very interested in the project as I'm building a Challenger. Can you let me in on what you have planned for the front suspension?

Thanks-Wes

I'm with you guys on this too. I'm going to enjoy watching this build come about regardless of what engine is in the car. However, for whatever reason, my initial response was "I certainly wouldn't do it that way". The weird thing is that I don't have that response at all with a Ford, ever. No idea why as there are some killer Ford builds going around that I like seeing as well. Maybe it's the fact that Mopars just aren't that prevalent in the PT world. I dunno. This car's going to be badass no matter what. That I am certain of. Good luck Cris:thumbsup:

It has already started! :D

I forgot you were a Mopar guy! I always wanted to do a Hemi Conversion but in this Challenger we will be doing what owner wants Pro-Tour Trans Am theme TA.. He just happens to like LS engines.. & has one that has the perfect HP & TQ for the events we attend thru out the year.. Looking forward to doing the vintage flares..

But if ever wanted to go Mopar power that would be an easy conversion.. When we are doing the build.. I will make sure that I leave that option open..

This is our theme..

If allowed.. I will cut up the front frame rails & impliment one of my Camaro sub-frames just like DSE is doing on that 69 Charger they are currently building..
