2nd Chance Camaro - Ride Rech Tiger Cage
2012 08-04 Update - 2nd Chance Camaro - Ride Rech Tiger Cage www.2ndchancecamaro.com Afternoon All, More boxes from Ride-Tech http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...98d21dd-me.jpg Good thing Scott was over he was able to open the box while I took pictures. It's to bad he's a cuB faN the good news is but he's still a good guy. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...23cb921-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...cb8eb85-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...a1f4644-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...d70568d-me.jpg It's going to look really nice once I get it installed. |
Cage looks good! Is tha a powdercoated one? I thought they make them from SS? Do you go without the door bars?

Nice, Marty are you sure that Scott didn't put some weights in the box when you weren't looking!!
Does Ride Tech make the cage in mild steel? I thought it was only SS? |

Marty the project is looking great! Hopefully I will get to see this project in finished form before it gets sold, unless your keeping this one for a while :)
I wish I could do a big project like this and be able to take pics etc like you do! I tried for a little while with the sy but always got sidetracked just working on it. I am looking at getting the ridetech rear 4-link for the sy so hopefully it will be ready for some autocross/ road racing action! Keep up the good work  |
Hay Dave how the heck are you ? I saw pictures of your Dad's Ty from the Power tour.
The goal is to keep this project and not sell it like the Truck. However if there is a good offer I can always build another one. Quote:

2nd Chance Camaro - Tiger Cage Install Part 2
2012 08-09 Update - 2nd Chance Camaro - Tiger Cage Install Part 2 www.2ndchancecamaro.com Good Evening all, Installing the Tiger cage is fairly easy. I was able to install the complete cage in about 4 hours. However, I did need a helper to finish tightening some of the supplied hardware http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...9b78d46-me.jpg The hoop mounts into the floor brackets which self align for easy drilling. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...dba9b2d-me.jpg The down bars attach through the package tray. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...6c2e0b6-me.jpg http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...9574886-me.jpg Quick look at the finish of the down bar. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...ea6f19c-me.jpg The down bars attach to the trunk floor. I used the frame rail spot welds as a guide to line up the bolt holes. Make sure you line this up perfectly so it hits the flat part of the frame rails. I used a right angle drill with a 1/8 drill to make sure I hit the frame rail perfectly. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...04fb815-me.jpg You can see that the bolts hit there mark perfectly. I also had to get tweak the floor just a little bit. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...f9897ae-me.jpg Finishing off the cage I once again enlisted the help of one of my daughters. I also found the perfect use for an old cotton shower curtain. It makes a perfect blanket for my daughter to lay on. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...052138b-me.jpg You can see Ride-Tech did a perfect job when designing the Tiger cage. The main hoop is in perfect alignment with the "B" pillar. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...ec4760b-me.jpg Harness bar installed. http://garagescene.net/_data/i/uploa...362f9ca-me.jpg Pictures hosted by www.garagescene.net |
