That is impressive Chad! Post a mock up pic when you get a chance?

Thanks Ron. You mean with the fender well in the truck? I'm going to use it to make the other side. I'll put it back in shortly. This has been a challenge, but I'm starting to get hooked on sheet metal work!

:popcorn2: hurry up!

Thanks very much. I'm glad to be inspiration. It's just metal. If you don't like it, cut it back apart! I know right, we need to kick it in high gear. It's tough, we only work a few hours in the evenings 2 maybe 3 days a week.

Looking good Chad. I'm still trying to talk Felicia into Pittsburgh

Chad - Looking good! Sheet metal work is tedious and challenging but very rewarding from my limited experience perspective.

Are you satisfied with the Chicago shears in the picture? What's their max gauge?

Thanks man, I really am getting addicted to sheet metal work. I just wish I was better at it.

I like them, you can't beat them for the price and for a home shop. I have been doing mostly 18 and 20 ga. No issues. I have done 16 ga as well with no problem, but not as much and mostly straight cuts. The nice part is you can buy replacement jaws. You don't run out of grunt, you just break the jaws. I was cutting some factory sheet metal and near a bend it got thick and broke the jaw. A few minutes to replace the jaw and I was back going again. I also have the air version. They work just as we'll and are smaller. You can get in tighter spaces with those. So I guess I'm happy! Lol

One thing I'm learning about metal working is I don't have nearly enough cutting and manipulating tools and from what I've seen it's impossible to have too many!

Thanks for the feedback, I almost bought the shears at Harbor the other day when I picked up a backup 4.5" Chicago $19.95 grinder. Looks like another trip is in order. :thankyou:
