Always marry a woman with money...

I have plenty of my own, but the way they like to spend it, we need them to be doing well, or they would drain us like a litter of puppies drains their momma...

Bucketlist2012 05-26-2012 02:10 AM

With 9.0 to one's on my 40 year old motor,"so I can run Pump gas ", I feel really inadequate right now...

I need to stay away from the track , unless it is the peanut butter track..

I will just get smoked...

I got lucky Mike. She is grounded and likes bargains like me and has no expensive vice like I have with this car. :unibrow:

I'm buying the house. I figure she can buy everything else for the next 40 years. :D

Too Funny...My Wife is as creative as it gets with bringing in the dead presidents.. But I have created a monster..But she understands budgets, and protecting the principal,ect..

Stepping up my game ?? With what.. My Kobe Bryant spread will prevent me from pulling my motor .. so I am stuck as the pace car/lap car

40 years....Hmmmm... At 52, I was going with a 30 year, but maybe at 3.5%, I should go 40. she is younger and i will be gone by then....Hmmm....

Yeah! And my motor lasts longer too!

Trust me -- I pit crewed for McCulloch and Whipple summer of 1971.... I've seen some serious fuel burn rates!

Ever clean the pan after a nitro run? I have.... more than once! Oh -- and after I was done with that I could clean the "wubba" off the body panels... and fetch another case of oil from across the pits (on your shoulder)... and then GTFOOTW.... (get the ---- out of the way).

Vegas69 05-26-2012 07:42 AM

This thread went from Queer right to Ghey.

Hey now Greg be nice... my eng lasted 7 seasons and is still going strong ;).. Yes i know about cleaning nitro pans, I used to be the bottom end guy (that just sounds so wrong) and "go-for guy" on Hippo Banner's nitro fuel altered and on Tim Grose's funny car back in the late 80's -90's

I'm not sure what's more disturbing... the fact that I considered going to track only high compression or using the word ghey in a post.

That's twilight zone shiat right there.

Don't you have a bottom-end or rear-end you should be working on? :unibrow:

Not that there is anything wrong with that

Matt@BOS 05-26-2012 08:55 AM

So, how much power is your race car going to have?

Screw it, before you even respond I'm just going to go ahead and tell you that you should have built an LS. :unibrow:

OMG --- Why in the world would anyone want to spend half the money for twice the motor?

When you can do it "Todd's Way".

I'm confused. I thought you were going for sarcasm with the fast and reliable part, but then you threw in the word 'doesn't' in front of sound[s] like a 1996 Chevy Baretta with a straight pipe. I'm going to have to google 'Chevy Baretta' but I'm pretty sure your car doesn't sound like one of those things.

Might as well start tearing out the carpet and installing the real race seats, hans device and fire system.

It's either PT, Lat G or a Race car better decide now.;)

I vote for the cereal bowls. Your guy can probably make them work.

How about a new word here.... RaceFighter.

I am really going for a Hobaugh or Maier type build with less quality obviously and less modern but track purpose with occasional street car ability. I don't want full race car and would do many different things if that was the goal.
I have some other ideas for the aeshetics that will help separate it from this damn sea of Camaros.

I have ditched the dome piston high compression idea. That lasted about 10 minutes. :willy:

That's hilarious and pretty much spot on. One big reason I've shied away. The sound just ain't right.

Nope. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Many cars blur the line or tip more to one side without flipping. That will remain the goal here. I like the continuing challenge to negotiate that line as only I can view it. We are all different with that and one thing I enjoy immensely about this site and watching people make their decisions. Race cars are too predictable and almost boring in comparison (please no one take that the wrong way).

Cereal bowls it is.

I figure that at refreshening time (maybe 2-3 years) I can then decide to add domes if I feel like it at that time.

I've been told it's a Lat-G car. A category that further blurs the lines between race street and PT. :D

I still like it. But with the Mustang paint job it should be Ford powered that would really set it apart from the other first gens. Let me know when you want to get started on that CHI headed SBF powerplant
