RECOVERY ROOM 02-05-2010 08:27 PM

I,m camera shy,He will have a whole bunch to show real fast...The truck never really had a specific time slot after Kenny had his accident,Just got it to me when they could.Marty and Kenny are both friends of mine outside of cars,And Marty said work on it when we could so I kept going on the cars that hit there scheduled dates. That also gave me the freedom to look at doing some cool things to the truck without worrying about show dates at the last minute( been there , done that , not fun.).The best part is torturing Marty..ha ha.It has been fun to work on this MINI truck ,Something different:thumbsup: I bet we lost a week of work this winter pushing and hauling snow off,Can't wait to mow grass again.

I will say working with Kenny, Travis, Tracy & Jimmy has been pretty awesome. At first it was about building the truck and then it turned into great freindship with all of these guys.

Personally the freindship with these guys have becomre more important to me then then getting the truck done. But it will get finished and if anyone is planning on going to GG Indy or GG Columbus the truck will be at both.

PS As far as builder & interior guys you can't miss with these guys.

RPM HOTRODS 02-08-2010 02:46 PM

I'll be there and can't wait to see it in person. It is always great when the build experience is great between each other.

GMracer 02-08-2010 02:53 PM

Marty, I may have to fly out for that.... I've been following this build since day 1 and you have helped me out in more ways than one. Plus I have yet to attend a GG show.

customcam 02-08-2010 03:52 PM

Wow what a Journey!
And i dont think you will find a better bloke than Marty also!

Make sure you hit the Columbus show it's one of the top five shows to hit in my opinion.

Your not so bad either - one of these days we are going to have to meet in person.

GMracer 02-09-2010 07:32 AM

So go to Columbus over Indy? I'm not sure I'll be able to make both.

BlackenedRR 02-09-2010 12:49 PM

Marty, I may have to use GG Columbus as an excuse to go visit family in Ohio so I can see this amazing truck in person.

I've been chipping away at my bucket list, Columbus and Sema in '08. Detroit in a couple weeks and maybe Columbus again this year. GNRS next year and maybe try and visit a few pro shops in '11.

Okay for me

Detroit Autorama

Power Tour - you must do this at least once in your life

GG Columbus

Woodward Dream Cruise

Hot August Nights

Sema

the shows that i still want to do but haven't yet

GNRS and some of those west cost shows that are warm weather friends are always talking about.

G-Body 02-10-2010 05:55 PM

I agree with that list for sure to be honest i have always dreamed of going to Sema but to be honest dosent really interest me after seeing photos this year of all the new cars and big trucks and the new 10 million 2010 camaros not real appealing anymore.
Going to my first detroit show in a few weeks cant wait, i live 120 miles from columbus and to me thats a MUST no matter what the drive.
And the woodward show seems to be the show/cruise not to miss aswell!

Garage Dog 65 02-10-2010 06:29 PM

Not sure if you're a rod guy - but being so close I'd recommend the hot rod show in Lousiville. Always some nice work there on display - like Columbus only all street rod/hot rod builds.

Marty, Thx for the list. If the weather is decent I'm driving up from Indy to Detroit - might catch you there. Jim

COYBILT 02-10-2010 09:01 PM

Warm weather yeah we Got that.

Good Morning All,

This post is dedicated to a good friend Dave 'Myclone"
Way back Dave said to me that he wanted to ride along in my truck once it was complete.

Unfortunately that will never happen Dave lost his life while under one of his trucks.
He was in a hurry and didn't properly set the vehicle on jack stands.
So please be careful when your working on your cars and safety first - ALWAYS !!!

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...oom_3333_2.jpg

Kenny, Tracy & I all agreed the seats needed a little modification.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...m_IMG_3433.jpg

Close up view of the modified seat.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...m_IMG_3434.jpg

Not to worry Guys there will be a headrest.
Tracy made up this little templete and sent it over to Ron @ WMC Design.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Room_3444.jpg

It's unfortunate that Dave won't be able to be my passenger.
But I will always remember him and know that he is riding next to me when I am driving the truck.

GregWeld 02-14-2010 08:21 PM

Sorry to hear that Marty.... That is very sad.

tony byram 02-14-2010 08:53 PM

we need more pic's!

syborg tt 03-03-2010 04:49 AM

Good Morning All,

As you know the seats have been cut down.
In order to protect my brain bucket we came up with these innovative Headrest brackets.

Tracy made a cardboard template and shipped them to Ron at Wilson Muscle cars.
www.wilsonmusclecars.com

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._Room_3444.jpg

Ron took it to the next level and created the CAD files needed to actually create the brackets
both for the headrest and the roll cage.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...09_WMC_233.jpg

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...09_WMC_234.jpg

Dennis over at High Speed Welding made the roll cage brackets for us.
www.highspeedwelding.com

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...ed_IMI_001.jpg

and Finally TJ over at IMI Manufacturing in Bolingbrook, IL cut the final brackets.
e-mail: [email protected]

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...ed_IMI_005.jpg

It took a real group effort to make these things and I can't wait to see how Tracy & Jimmy finish these off.

http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...ed_IMI_024.jpg

I almost forgot - The UPS Driver that came back to pick these up at my shop so we I could get these to Tracy.

Spiffav8 03-03-2010 05:04 AM

WOW!

GMracer 03-03-2010 07:23 AM

Brackets look nice, I think I understand how they'll work. But I'm curious to see them in position.
