Man, I swear if I had the money, I'd buy it right now Mario unfinished. I know what kind of work went into it and I wouldn't even have to see it. I'd pay you and then just come pick it up. LOL!!

What is it that is making it so you dont like it any more? Selection of parts, perfection - or lack of, car model itself, etc... I know that as I get better at at fabrication, I always want to do parts over again, and may never finish. What ever it is, I want to learn, so I can avoid it.

Same here Mario. So sorry to hear this, I hope something comes up to change your mind so you'll be happy.

preston 05-02-2016 01:53 PM

I can totally relate to being burnt out and wanting to sell, the part I can't reconcile is "so I can start on a new project". Seems hard to come up with something better than this, unless you are going full race or something.

Looking forward to seeing it done. Good luck with whatever is next!

DOOM 05-04-2016 08:55 PM

Thanks Guys. My frustration and disappointment is off the charts! Getting into why is pointless , nothing is going to change the end result. What's done is done . I went from counting the days to go see how the progress was going on my car , to dropping off parts and leaving without even looking at my car because I honestly and truly didn't give a sh!t !!!!! My relationship with my builder is not what it was . And I don't see it getting any better. I never thought in a million years this would of happen. I will say, none of this has anything to do with money or the build quality of my car. I just want to make that clear. So stay tune will see where this goes . My wife is thinking this will all change(my attitude towards the car) when the car is done will see.

frankv11 05-04-2016 10:32 PM

One my favorite builds , it's been very inspirational. Hopefully you change your mind on that first drive. It's going to be one awesome car !
But at the end of the day if it brings you bad memories or hate the situation. Sell it and build the next one ..

Good luck Mario

Gwen and I have been together for 44 years.... during those many years there are times when I'm sure she has asked herself "WTF did I get in to" - as I know those thoughts have entered my mind. Cars can be like this. Frustration... Or buying nothing but the best of the best and then that first drive is a dud... or they overheat - or make weird sounds.... whatever.

My point?? This is a HOBBY.... take a step back... take a deep breath... try to lower the boiling point... Can "whatever it is" be fixed? Can it really - other than cost and time - be that big of a deal? It's a ****ing car project... It can be like golf... some days I'm a hero and some days I'm a complete zero... Do I call it quits midway thru the zero day? Nope. It's just a game... look around - the place is beautiful - I think WTF - it beats working... LOL How bad can it be? Today I suck - last week I par'd everything...

Okay.... You know we all love you... nobody on this website has done more for more people. We all want this car to be a huge success - you deserve that - and that's how it shall be.

Trust me - when my Brizio puked all it's coolant on the ground a week before I was to go on a long distance road trip with the Butthead (Lillard).... Your heart just sinks... Do you throw your tools around the shop or do you take a deep breath and tear in to it?

We don't need or want to know what happened - we just want you to get this MOFO fired up!! Take your frustration out on the tires! LOL

Matt@BOS 05-05-2016 10:00 AM

*** take your frustration out on the tires. Not the clutch. :)

I'm with Greg, and your wife on this one. Although it might not be when it is first done. All cars that are built have teething issues. If you take the time to get it sorted out, or have someone sort out the suspension and tune the engine perfectly to your liking, I can pretty much guarantee that the driving experience will make you forget about everything else!

I agree Mario, Remeber when we were being tortured in the beginning. It got better and I hope it does again. You put so much Love sweat and labour in it maybe that first blast in it will feel so good you'll stick with it. What ever you decide we wish you the best but inside I hope you find that love for it again.

Okay -- I went back and fixed my mistake!! LOL

Vegas69 05-05-2016 06:42 PM

Like many things, these cars are a roller coaster ride. If it's not about money or quality, you are in better shape than most. I agree with Greg, take a break to recharge your batteries if needed. It's just a car, it can wait or you can take it somewhere else to finish it.

Who's to say the next one goes this well? Finish it off and enjoy it!!

Spiffav8 05-06-2016 09:19 AM

Buddy, you are not the type that lets little things bother you. Nor are you the type to cry about the money. You are one of the best people I know. You have done a great deal for others out of kindness, never asking for anything in return. You deserve to be treated with respect on that alone.

I imagine the car could have fallen off a lift and it wouldn't be this upsetting. You are the paying customer and it is YOUR car. You are the only one who has any right to say what does or doesn't happen.

You have every right to be madder than F*&K and it's alright to be that mad.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations, Mario. This is supposed to be fun with just a bit of temporary frustration thrown in just to keep it interesting...and humbling. I hope you can work through whatever it is and enjoy your car for all the reasons you built it.

Flash68 05-06-2016 12:57 PM

Hope you can hang in there Mario. Hell, if I can stick with it, surely you can. :)
