okay can someone explain this?
I got an ip address from where they were making purchases with our card online. 72.56.145.85 how does the guy use an IP address from over 3000 miles away and in a different country. |
They might have sold your credit card #?
You might want to sign up for one of those credit identity theft companies. Costco offered a discount for a company called Identity Guard. After I signed up, I had access to my credit score from all 3 Credit Bureaus and also got an email every time a new account was opened under my SS#. I don't think anything is fool proof, but it helps me monitor my credit score https://www.intersections.identitygu...eid=1&f=costco Sorry you having to deal with this crap. It sucks! |
They just spoofed the IP address or even easier, the logged onto the web using one of those free internet accounts which spoofs it for you.
I forget the name of the company but I used to see advertisments for them all the time. Now they charge like $2.99 a month for a host. I feel for you brother, you have a long road ahead of you. Rich |

Now that they have all your personal info it's C.Y.A. time! I'll talk to the wife who works for the Police here in Vegas and see if she has any suggestions for you. Best of luck my friend. |
Wife said to contact everyone. lol
SS admin...get a new number and they will flag your account. State Department regarding the Passport. CC companies for new accounts and ask for fraud alerts on any purchase over a certain amount. Like $200.00 that you need to approve. Contact all the Credit Reporting agency's informing them of what's happened. Best to do it all via phone and then follow up in writing. Major pain in the azz I know, but it's better than what could become a bigger problem. |
Bob is this happening elseware around you? Reason I ask is I had two friends that this happened to both live in quit crime free neighborhoods,no home invaitions . So after some time it in both cases the rat b@#$*#ds were caught ! Turns out that in both cases these people were friends of friends!!!(BOTH SEPERATE CASES) But the officers in both cases told them to start looking at people they know. They laughed it off . When they found out they were floored!! Sounds crazy. But as this happened I told my wife it just did'nt add up ,this does'nt happen in the areas they live in. Just a thought ........

WOW that's crazy Mario!
I told this story to Bob already, but yeasterday I was the first to arrive at work and the glass of the front door was broken and it appeared there was unlawfull entry. Nothing was taken...but the crazy thing is that earlier that day an electrician got all the outdoor/parking lot lights fixed...thay had been not working for some time. Today when I saw the electrician (a friend of mine) I told him he lit the parking lot up too well and it was real easy for jack asses to see what they were doing! Go figure they wait untill the parking lot is lit to break in! :faint: |
That is awful. I know exactly how you feel. In the last 2 years:
-two attempted thefts on my trucks. Ravelco.com plug stopped them. -burglarized my storage unit, stole three sets of wheels/tires ($8,500) -stolen radar detector by a valet driver at a hotel -broken into truck, stole radar, CD case, handgun If I ever catch someone stealing my crap, they will pay for all of the above. |
