One mistake I made is buying that Glasstek carbon fiber hood from Year One. It was before any other carbon ones were out other than the one off ones that the Red Witch got. Live and learn I guess.
Pics look great Telly. I can't wait to see it in person. |
tail panel and stripe painted flat black. Hood will be on tomorrow and back to Jeff's on saturday.

Checkbook will certainly be lighter after this weekend. :wow: Telly will be on a buying spree. |
Jeff showed up today and pick up his car, I'm sure he'll be posting some more pics as he puts it back together. Now maybe I can take a weekend off. Anyway it was great working with Jeff I'm looking forward to beating on our cars together this summer.

Looks good! Did you get the hood painted?
|
That is another story I should maybe let Telly tell. Yes the hood is painted, but the first time it was on the car since the nose has been back on was this morning. Let me just say that it was good that I did not get there til noon. We finished putting the nose together, inner fenders (I forgot to bring the brackets last time), fender corners and lower valence. Then we loaded it up and came home.
I am very happy with how it came out. Tomorrow I want to get the brakes, wheels and tires back on. That should make it look like its old self again. Also, who knew that if you wanted to withdraw a significant amount of cash from your account that they want you to order it ahead of time. It's a bank for god's sake! Took me two branches to get enough cash to get it out of hock. |
I guess since this time it wasn't in 'paint jail' a loan shark wasn't offered for bail!

So about that hood, Yes I usually fit everything before paint but due to the time schedule I decided to go ahead and paint it well that wasnt the smartest thing to do, after about 6 hrs of moving adjusting and slotting some holes we pulled the hood off for the 100th time and found out that the left side holes were drilled about 3/8 of and inch to low, not a big deal normally most fiberglass/carbon fiber hoods have steel or aluminum plates glued in them so you can just drill different holes not this hood so I drilled new holes welded the new nut to the rear of there threaded plugs and epoxy'd them in, so I decided to send it home without the hood so I can slot the hood and use fiber glass resine to secure them better, we wont even go into the inner fenderliner hell we went through. Thanks for the comments guys and I also have a spot open if anyone needs some work done!!!
