You're a humble man Rodger !
I agree the other two look great, but if I may point out the obvious: Yours has an exposed tube chassis, loads of body mods (obvious tilt hood) and tons of attention to detail and its tastefully done. Other than being super clean, what was so special of the other two ? Job well done for getting it out ! |
Both Trucks were awesome and the owners were really nice guys. The guy who owned the Ford had had it for 30 years and it was really straight and clean. The cameo was super clean also and the exterior body mods were pretty cool.
FYI I have update dmy site with a lot of fresh pics of the truck. I have few things I want to improve before pleasanton next month. And I'm think I will bring it to Columbus in July. Rodger |
I still think your truck is better than the other 2.
Not taking anything away from the other guy's trucks at all. Just my opinion. |

Saw the truck up close and got the full tour and it is all that but I don't know why everyone is consoling Rodger like his dog died. He is the furthest thing from a sore loser and now has two new friends with super nice trucks he didn't know before along with some great press for the truck and the shop and I'll bet $1000 he gets a Top 5 later this year because the truck is super sick and has tons of style and details! I guarantee it was a tough choice for the judges but to say any of them were better than the others from thumbnail photos is like judging a beauty contest with binoculars from the next town. Ever bodywork a 40 year old farm truck? How about fiberglass Cameo bedsides? Ever wonder why those trucks were usually white? Ever see the gap between the cab and bed on a Cameo? Rodger's fist would fit in one and if you've seen Rodger, you know that is not a tight fit. The new gap on that Cameo was tighter than most door gaps. Ever made one off sidetrim? Both of the other trucks had it and it was like jewelry on the Ford. Just saying it's all in the details and all three trucks had tons of them. Rodger knows his truck is awesome and so does everyone there. Way to go, Rodger, the truck looks great! I see a Top 5 in your very near future! |
Truck looks great Rodger!!

Problem is you have to bring mirrors and a couple jack stands to show your chassis. Truck looks sharp and I would rather gain the respect of other builders than win a trophy. You went with a very classic design that with no in your face exterior mods that unfortunately get overlooked sometimes.
The wheels on the silver truck are incredible. Evod?? |
Thanks guys, Like I said the 2 other trucks were awesome piece. Each truck had its own stand out feature. The silver truck was the paint and body, the red and black one was the body mods and mine was the engineering and details. With the comments that have been made from everyone viewing the Truck I know we accomplished our goal. I wanted and sharp looking truck that was not over the top from the outside that was total business underneath. We are working to get a few things dialed in on the tuning of the truck to improve the handling even further and dial the engine in from the dyno tune that the FAST unit has currently. I was very impressed with the power and handling of the truck in just the small cruise I got to do friday.
It is looking more promising that I may take the truck to Columbus, I just need to figure out what else I might take since I have a 2 car trailer. Rodger |
Truck looks really sweet Rodger can't wait to see it in person!
