As far as not having stock, thats fine! Just be HONEST thats all I ask. I had another route I could have taken. I just ordered headers from Blake from Speedtech. He told me it will be four to five weeks to get them. Guess what, Im fine with that because he let me know and I excepted those terms. Ok Guys Im not going to post anymore until Tyler posts in here. Im beating a dead horse, some get it some dont. If you order ATS in the future good luck. |
The mere fact that the owner of the business in question here has not replied in any fashion speaks volumes concerning his understanding of the basic principles of customer service.
If someone claims a part is in stock, it is reasonable to assume that the part is in fact at a location where it can be shipped out immediately. If the part in question is normally drop-shipped, then the part should not be described as "in stock," but rather as "usually in stock at our supplier." If upon ordering it from the supplier the part is discovered to be out of stock, the business should then contact the purchaser and let them know expected delivery date. A customer can be quite tolerant of delays, but they must be kept in the loop as to the delay and the reasons for it. If a customer feels he is left in the dark however, he will feel cheated no matter the effort the business might be making on his behalf. Shiny Side Up! Bill |

Yeah, Jegs and Summit don't ship anything from those 100K sq foot warehouses. Or me, an Industrial Distributor, 12k sq ft warehouse. We have over 300k in inventory. You are right, the internet has changed business. Customers want the best price AND quick shipments. If you don't or can't provide both, your done. Darren |

I'm not defending his actions, I'm simply pointing out a different perspective. I'd be just as pissed and would have moved on long ago.

I plan on ordering my ATS spindles from SC&C when the time is right thier customer support is outstanding! |
rogue i am in the automotive industry .and i have never had any probs like this believe it or not. i allways plan far far ahead and allways have a second route i can go if need be. if i did a customer like this i would kick my own a//

Bill,
I agree, I should edit the post to say customers want the best price, the best customer service, AND quick shipments. Living in Columbus, home of Jeg's, some of those dudes are not the brightest bulbs working the counter, but they always have the stuff in stock and the best price. (with no hassle returns if you goof up!) Darren |

The only thing I have issue with is Tyler being called a liar. For me that is crossing the line. Still to each their own. :captain: |
