Motor is a 418CI, forged 4340 bottom end, L92 heads, small cam (for a 418), No VVT. Makes right at 600HP and 580 TQ. We are running a FAST LSXR intake and TB on this one.

With a bigger cam we can get more horsepower but lose TQ, so a lot of testing found the perfect balance. That TQ coming off the corners on the road coarse is great. And it is KILLER on the autocross.

These motor are built for boats that run sustained 4000 - 5000 RPMs under intense load. So if they can live in a boat, they can live anywhere. We change the cam specs for more friendly power curve in a car, and use the same guts otherwise.

The long blocks with cam, coils, wires, minus intake, injectors, TB are only $7400.

Ready to run with a FAST intake, tuning / ECM, Road Race pan is under $11K.

So they are a smokin deal. But before I announced our engine program I wanted to run one in the worst possible torture test and know one is driving 1000 to 4000 miles to and from events and running nearly as many laps as Brian! that boy does not need a accelerator peddle, he needs a idle / full throttle switch!

And he is getting 20 MPG with it too!

VERY IMPRESSIVE Frank! :woot:

i tell ya what though..Randy Bell in the grey primered car came in 5th and has a mild ls1 lacking a ton of power to these guys..id love to see Randy with a motor like Prodigys in his car..Randy is just lacking the funds not the talent...

tellyv 06-21-2010 09:55 AM

It's the guys with the most practice that are really good, yes you have to have some talent but the more laps you put on the better you'll get, Mark is a very good driver with many laps behind his belt and could probably beat most of us in a Miata! As for Finch I'm not sure where he get his practice besides hitting all these events but whatever he's doing is paying off. And I think by talking to Randy last year he races very frequently also, so what I'm trying to say is it's better to be a good driver than have a great car. I wish I could've made it I surely need the practice!

Thanks for all my Buddies

Well I'm beat..... It has been a long 4 months since I got the car back from paint to get it together.

I would like to thanks all my buddies for helping me get my car going. If it weren't for them I would not have of gotten it done. I would like to thank Paul and Joe VanNus for painting the car and getting it tuned up last week. My buddy Ryan Kuhlenbeck wiring the whole car including the ECM and ABS. My old college roommate Dave Mikels for help get the engine sorted out. Brian Thomson for building the engine. Kyle and Stacy Tucker for giving me help with all the DSE stuff and the initial tuning set up. Laura my girlfriend for putting up with the buildup. Joe Borschke for all the fab work and letting me use his shop. Craig Adams for swinging by and working with me on the trim pieces. Will Handel for moral support and bring parts to the track. Gordon Rojewski for finding my loose bolt and helping with the photo shoot. Charley Lillard for giving me a hard time.

I could not be happier. For a car I drove for the first time Thursday at noon to get to Motorstate and do well is awesome. I wanted do well enough to get an invite to Optima and not break the car.

We all had a great time at Motorstate it is very well run event and it was great to see a lot of old friends.

Now I have the rest of the summer to sort the car and get the rest of the stuff working. I have a small over temp issue that we need to sort out. Once we get that we should gain back about another 75 HP. I’ll get the ABS working should be worth a little.

Well it is off to Wal-Mart to practice Auto-X, need to gain about 1 second…where did I put the construction cones…..lol

Thanks

Stielow
