Got it!
OK - I had a few minutes during the day today to call Vintage Air and they answered my questions. Yes I can run the EZ-Clip for heater hose and they have the O-ring to hose barb fittings that I need for the connections under the dash. I just missed them when looking in their catalog.
I just thought I'd answer my own questions in case someone else searched an found them - they would have the answers. |
Lower Grill Pan
Well, I thought I was pretty well done with all of the "dirty work", but........ We were pulling parts out to sand and prep for a coat of Flat Green last night and the lower grill pan was still as it came from the factory. I didn't think we needed the provision for the hand crank any more. ;)

You guys are awesome! Can you put our wagon body on your list of things to do?

I'm not sure I would describe us as anything other than SLOW! ;) I'd love to work on your wagon- - - I'm not sure it would even fit in our shop right now and I think Dad has a few projects in line after this one is done. He's been pretty patient with me, but he's ready to finish up his '48 Chevy and then get on his '57 Ford Pickup. I'm trying to work out a plan that results in a new house for our Family along with a much larger shop. We'll see how that works out.
I picked up a Pexto model 132 foot stomp shear the other day on Craigslist, so I was itching to use it. I also got to use the bead roller and the tig welder last night! It was a good night. I'm tired this morning though. We plan to paint a bunch of the flat green parts on Saturday. Inner fenders, grill parts, hood hinges, hood props, grill pan, and other random under the hood stuff. The rest of the shiny parts just need wet sanded one last time and they are ready for paint - ie: front fenders, hood, running boards.... We're getting closer. I really want to at least get it wired to the point of being able to start it prior to putting the doghouse on it. |

Here a few pics from today ......
We moved the truck back out in the open so that we could put it up on stands and start wiring and plumbing air lines before the rest of the body panels go on. I also started assembling some of the interior components – Vintage Air unit, gauges, steering column etc. http://www.blog.wiedos.com/wp-conten...7649697733.jpg http://www.blog.wiedos.com/wp-conten...7649668797.jpg http://www.blog.wiedos.com/wp-conten...7649631822.jpg I think the gauges look pretty cool! Oh - the windshield wiper knob will be changed out. I can't stand the one that comes with the kit, but I haven't figured out what I'm going to use yet. http://www.blog.wiedos.com/wp-conten...7649655609.jpg |
That is looking sick Brandon. Love the color and the old school dog dish wheels.

Thanks - I'm getting anxious to get it done!

Love the color, stance and wheels. Great project.

We got the rest of the parts painted over the weekend. Hood, front fenders, running boards, etc..... I snapped a quick pic of the hood. They came out pretty slick - -still need to be sanded and buffed.
http://www.blog.wiedos.com/wp-conten...-15-00_904.jpg Time to push to get it done and to the interior shop!!!! |
