We had the car here at the shop getting it ready for the 2013 Super Chevy Handling Challenge. Installed the new Ridetech TQ's, and scaled and aligned the car.

Here are some more pics from the SoCal Challenge.

Thanks to James Crosby for thrashing on the car to get it back out on Saturday. http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps311c1f64.jpg http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps6ca502f6.jpg http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps646bf475.jpg 3 wheel motion, needs less front bar and more rear bar http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps2cedcbfa.jpg http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps31fda2ef.jpg -J |
Looks gre8t!
How'd the car perform all things considered? |
The car looks good. Those rims look like they belong on that car. x2 how did the car perform?

The car still has some cooling issues so Tim ordered a new radiator and fan. We went ahead and changed to a larger rear anti-sway bar and stiffened up the low speep and high speed adjusters on the Ridetech shocks. The car is getting better each time it hits the track(which is only twice so far). Tim is trying to get some Rivals since the NT05's are only available in a 295 for the rear.
Tim and James Crosby made a few laps at Adams last night. Tim kept getting faster as the night progressed and he got comfortable with the track. His fastest was a 47.0. http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8980bf27.jpg The camera wasn't liking the dim light so we had some issues getting it to focus. http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/a...psf4ac1470.jpg http://i981.photobucket.com/albums/a...psb2f847fb.jpg |

Looks like you guys are having a good time with the car. She definitely leans in the corners :D I couldn't help but note that you mentioned wanting to stiffen the rear bar and reduce the front bar - I would have to say my gut feel from considering the attitude of the car in the corners and how much turn in is being applied to the fronts, I would stiffen the whole car up first on the main spring rates, not bar rates, then stiffen the rear bar only to work on the understeer. Don't mess with the front bar at all yet as the car is too soft overall. I can understand messing with shock adjustments, but IMO shocks are fine tuning dynamics and what I see is a car that needs some static updates. People were always surprised at how much wheel rate I had in my car but it just kept going faster and faster the stiffer I made it :) I had some pretty big ARBs as well.
I intend to start my Nova project out at pretty high wheel rates based on what I learned tracking my last car and iterating the suspension over a 7 year period. FWIW... |
Its all about seat time.
Amazing, Tim you can tune by looking at pictures? :hitaxeonthehead: |
