Well Darrell has been bugging me to quickly get some pictures up of his chassis since he is busy feeding the cows of Southern California.

I have the rear transaxle mount to redesign and relocate, I need to build the actual upper control arms and change the layout of the front lower control arm crossmember for the improved rack design. I had an idea for a lower brace to go under the exhaust that will be pretty bitchin.

Project Slow motion continues.

I agree, and so do the headers. I think you better get the chair ready for another of Darell's stare sessions.

HWY Nova 05-17-2012 01:17 PM

I think that is one of the nicest chassis that I've ever seen!

Yee-oow that is slick Ra-ja!

Can we have some more details? It looks quite different than fitting a stock Corvette chassis. Start w control arms fabbed (maybe for narrow track width?) and thought behind the rear set up design.

It's a tube chassis we designed with Eric Turner as we also built one for under his 62 Nova car also. Lengthen torque tube, LSA engine, 6 speed transaxle, Custom built exhaust, all under a 67 Nova and pretty close to the same under Eric's 62 nova also.

It just fabrication. Anything beyond that your going to have to ask.

Darrell has been an awesome customer to work with and I'm just glad to see him blown away every time he sees the the car. He has spent more money then he ever thought and still gets up early to go work to earn the money to see this project through. I'm sure he gets out of bed a little quicker after seeing the project like he does every few weeks. Here is a picture from the time Jason was referring to a few posts ago when Darrell first saw the car on the ground for the first time a few months ago. He was pretty blown away to say the least.
