Alright, so I've never actually heard mine make a whining noise. However, I have heard it make a popping/clanking noise once or twice when pulling away from a stomp, same goes for Bad Penny. A little disconcerting but they're still going strong.

If its a constant whine and doesn't change with accel or decel it maybe a pinion preload issue. Sounds like you'll have to have it set up again.

If you can, get it inspected. Any good shop can pinpoint a differential noise.
