Yeah Dave, whats up?
I want to see what you are doing to the back half??? Ford guys need to know :-) |
What's up dude! Well after measuring and figuring and talking and...... we decided it'll just be better to build our own 4 link system for the rear. I like the one Rod and Custom Motorsports has, but it doesn't allow for the steam rollers we want to run. I also don't like the shear tension placed on the two heims they run. These cars have big rockers with good metal in them so we'll build a rear cross member and tie the cage into all of it. It'll be widely adjustable, sit low, and work perfectly on the street, strip, and turns. Gonna run a 305 rear tire and a 235 up front on an 18 inch wheel.
I sold the 408 and am looking at some other options. Coyotes, pushrod Boss 302s etc. Not sure yet. |
^ As long as you keep a ford in a ford, all will be right with the world. Badass build so far.
|
oh it'll definitely be an oval in it. Been looking at Whipple charged Coyote builds. They're really cool and look bitchin.
|
You didn't happen to keep the Blu Thunder valve covers? :bump:
|
you know I did! lol. Those are on the wall waiting to make something look cool.

.....and then the wheels showed up! We went to ADV1 for the wheels on this car and selected their Advanced Series 3 piece wheel with an extreme rear concave profile. They're designed for 6 piston Wilwoods and are 18x7 and 19x12.5 out back. Rear tire is a 345/25/19- not sure on front heights yet so I'll just be using my roller 235/40/18s for now.
Dealing with ADV1 was an absolute breeze and their staff is ultra professional from deign, to logistics. The wheels feature all Ti hardware and the level of detail is unreal. I have looked over each wheel closely and cannot find a flaw. Can't wait to have these shoved under that little car soon!
