As far as the banter, I get it and understand the bromance around here....I'd like to think I wouldn't jump on any real drama....well, maybe talk about the Miata.

Sounds like a great event and a good time with friends for the holiday, enjoy!

HA!! The lonely Miata --- I haven't even retitled it yet!! It just sits in the corner of the shop like a little model car.

93db is tough to make... so restrictive!! 105db is pretty loud in comparison.

This will only be the second time I've run Laguna Seca... it's our 36th Anniversary - and Thanksgiving... it will be a great week. The area is special - not like Charlie, who is Special ED... it's hard not to want to run there and visit the area.

After beating the crap out of the '33 -- Charlie might be able to get more from the parts than the car is worth complete... I think it might need a complete repaint after this last trip.

Wait..... HOW many years ago was that?? Oh yeah -- I bought the car FOUR years ago...

You might try a thing called "maintenance" once in awhile.:hitaxeonthehead:

I wonder if your mustang is any quieter with the reworked suspension....:peepwall:

The Lotus was tripping the sound meter at T-Hill because:
- The exhaust exited low right
- The sound check station is on the right at the start of the front straight
- Due to the nature of the corner it's very easy to hit the rev limiter in 3rd and that causes a pop right next to the sound check.

It's one of the quietest cars at any event I've been to........except for that pop and the resulting 3 meatball flags which had me tip-toeing all day Sunday.

Laguna 105

I have run Laguna several times with my street exhaust
and it makes the 105 db... this event will bring out a lot
of cars that you will not see there any other time other than
an Open exhaust day which is sometimes once a year
105 is still tough for the Cup cars

Funny how this sound thing came up... I was taking the
quiet car.. my Firebird... down to the gas station to fill it up
for the Marina event this weekend and barely got down the
street and the red lights lit up behind.... pulled over and
the Lady Cop said I was pulled over for a loud exhaust and
Bald tires... I did not want to let her know that the Hoosiers
were brand new with less than 20 miles on them.. fix it ticket

I was thinking the Pantera is a lot Louder.. may have to put
my quiet exhaust for running around and also some tires
with tread on them..

The other HUGE difference at Laguna Seca is that the sound is portable and moves around - and is manned by the County not the track.

They have the fixed station on the right between T5 & T6 and someone who acts as a roving 'Sound Sniper' according to hearsay.

Laguna 105

Most will lift going up the hill to make sound
but sometimes get on it too early and pop the meter
