The good news is I'm poised for an addition. I'll get 15 more feet in length and a 1' wider door.

Never even saw this post until today... Thought I'd share.
Here's my "man Cave"

Please forgive the coat of white stuff on baby #2, she had to sit outside during last winter's remodeling. Under the offensive white coating is a very nice totally stock 93, in polo green.

The cave was initially an attached 25 by 55 foot "drivethrough" garage. After getting way too tired of son #1 helping himself to my tools and never putting them back, I built me a wall with a door that locks, and did a total "redo" on my side.

Thanks Chris

Only 3 car but as organized as possible. Before the next project is a new house and garage. These photos are about a year old and I have added to many new tools to the collection. I am basically down to a shop, the camaro, and storage for my bike/atv in the third car.

One question though. On some of the pics it says wood shop. Do you guys build much stuff out of wood? Never seen that at a custom build shop before.

Yes we do lots of stereo work in wood and fiberglass as the metal just is not cost effective. A box, kick panels, trim over stereo and so on is much more cost effective from wood and fiberglass. We do very high end stereo work as well as build cars so that is why we have a wood shop.

That is awesome, I'd feel bad putting my car in that shop, it looks like a parts car compared to everything else in there.

They all start looking that way its what you do next with them that matters. Just lots of hard work and hours. Just dig in and have fun thats what its all about.

Would love to see the build pics/updates on that blue Camaro on the lift as well, when you get around to it.

My new little piece of heaven an 800sf (23x36)3 car garage in our new house. Still saving up to add some cabinets, work bench and Epoxy the floor.

Twin_Turbo 01-12-2009 01:32 PM

4000 sq.ft (there's also 3 more cars on the right, it's a separate dry walled section with heating and a "living room" to hang out, also parts stored there and on the 2nd floor)

Hey slck6t9, whats the story on the YSR? I've got one that I need to clean up for my girls.
https://lateral-g.net/forums/atta...1&d=1231726543

slck6t9 01-13-2009 07:59 AM

CRCRFT78, the YSR is an 88 that was commissioned by Harley Davidson to be painted up like the VR1000 race bike and travel the circuit with it as a promotion gig. One side is painted black as you see and the other is orange. It is a total blast to ride by the way.

CRCRFT78 01-13-2009 05:29 PM

Yeah I love flying around on mine instead of driving. Do you have anymore pics you could share?

abadsvt 01-14-2009 06:46 AM

Here is my shop. We just moved in so it is still pretty messy. I still have to move my truck over but it is nice having room again. It is a 60x41 with a second story giving us a total of about 3500sqft of usable floor space. Also we are slowly painting our equipment so that is why some look proped up and half painted.

slck6t9,

I was bored in SF yesterday and i was checking out an auto mag and i saw a wall lift they make that you can put a bike on and it lifts the bike off the ground to create more floor space. Like a lift gate mounted on the wall. Heaven forbid i remember the name of the unit but if your in search of more room might be something to look at down the line. probably not cheap though. good luck on the cabinets! EDIT: found it! www.loft-it.com bout 2g's

Marc

Thanks Marc now that is pretty cool.

My mother in law calls this "the Shed".... and the wife threatens to lock me in there... god how I wish she would!!

My Shed #2 pics

7 Attachment(s)
Here's some more pics of "the shed".... my property sits on a corner is on an 1.25 acres -- so gave me a second driveway just to the shop... and my wife wanted to lower the view - so we hauled out 1600 cubic feet of dirt to lower the shed down below grade... that was a good decision! I had to build a base for the post that holds the "man cave" upstairs --- so couldn't just have square cut steel - out came the plasma and I did some flames! LOL -- this is what I love about having a real place to 'work'!!

Since these pictures were taken - (I have 100's - LOL) - I sold the project 36 Ford and the Project 69 Camaro... and bought a "done" 37 Ford Minotti that will get the complete re-do. I had 4 cars -- two too many to be able to WORK... spent too much time moving crap around - so now the 56 Nomad can be in the upper garage or in the trailer - and have only ONE CAR in the shed at a time..... I've also finally moved all tools and tool boxes to permanent locations - and built (in one of the pics - dark but you can see it) a huge work table.... and added some more lighting.

Funny -- I live in Seattle Washington area - and had the shed plumbed for Natual Gas.... but I also have 6" of high density insulation in the walls and roof.... sometimes now I have to open the door or roof vent (sky lights - electrically operated) because it's TOO WARM -- and I have NO HEAT... just the lights (I leave them on 24/7)....
