yea... but i think its a lil to late now... like $920.00 to late lol... the 69 tylers working on (well just finished)has the exact same springs in there and its sits much lower though...
all the pics are of the pass side though and right now its sitting higher that the driver side by 1" the driver side rear height looks pretty good though.

tom_a Your car looks great. Love the wheels
Thanks Tom

NvrDun71 What are all the upgrades?
Global West upper control arms w/ Delalum bushings
Lower control are Delalum bushings
ATX Tall spindles from ATS
L-2CAT5 Performance leaf springs
S-13 Front coil springs
C5 Corvette F&R calipers
Baer Eradispeed rotors

Quote:

Nine Ball Damn that RS nose looks killer! The new brakes and spindles look great too. I can't wait to see it completed. Did you already get the rear wheel offset changed?
Still a bit of work to get it all to fit right, but it's coming along. Like Aj said it looks like I might get super lucky and only need to roll the fenders. Talked to the guys at I-Forged and they say I can mill a bit off the back side of the center section if needed.

Quote:

awr68 AJ or Curtis, did you get the back to drop anymore today?

Yeah, Curtis sent me some pics last night and it does look like the fender roll might fix it all. He does want the car to still come down a lot more though...
Got the car pulled away from the wall and found that the drivers side sits the way I expected it to. Not sure why but the passenger side sits almost an inch and a half higher. It did drop a bit but not much. Just need to tinker with it a bit is my guess.

Quote:

Steve1968LS2 That's looking VERY good.. but wait.. I though you had an engine issue.. what's with all the other stuff?
Thanks Steve. The engine should be ready tomorrow and make for a great birthday present. To bad I have to pay for it. You know how these cars go...one thing leads to another. :captain:

Anthony-

This is why I didn't recomend a DSE 3" spring (beside the fact that the L2 CAT5 spring is much better in terms of construction):

http://69.94.75.177/forum/showthread.php?t=40988
http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18451

In that thread:

DSE 3" drop leafs , early construction of car:
http://www.t56kit.com/projects/padilla/27.jpg

Same leafs, after constuction, and with a 1" lowering block:
http://www.pro-touring.com/~tylerb/68Camaro.jpg

Here is the 69 we are finishing on the Global West L2CAT5 spring- no lowering blocks, non full weight:

http://i16.tinypic.com/8gjis7a.jpg

We should be able to get Curtis' car plently low.

I'm sure you can...........

Spiffav8 03-12-2008 11:51 PM

I'm not worried at all. Tyler will be over in the next week or two and I'm sure he will be inspecting everything before the car hits the road.

Oddly, the drivers side sits a lot lower than the passenger. I may have to loosen the front bolt on that spring to get it to sit right. I'll post a picture of the drivers side tomorrow. It looks killer!

awr68 03-12-2008 11:58 PM

Yeah, in the thread Tyler linked, Jake said that all bolts need to be loose, get it on the ground, and then tighten it all down. You only redid the rear bolts today right?

anthony i dont think that will help nore does it need it... i personally bolted the front spring pockets to the spring and made sure they tight but still able to articulate the pocket on it.

awr68 03-13-2008 07:32 AM

Sounds like they are installed correctly, I guess it's time to see what happens when the rest of the drive train gets installed.

Yea, but I didn't know if he was just buying the needed parts or if he was getting a whole new engine.

I'm building a 355 street engine next week and thought I could cut him a smoking deal :)

Can't wait for his car to get done... then we will have to find another Camaro or two in Vegas and come do a big ass photoshoot.

Nine Ball 03-13-2008 08:14 AM

Tyler, that black '68 looks great. Are those 17s or 18s on the car?

Spiffav8 03-13-2008 10:42 AM

I'm going to pick up the engine! :unibrow:

Any reason to hit the OG is a good one  I'll look around and see what I can find for you.

Spiffav8 03-13-2008 08:18 PM

O.K. Here's a shot of the drivers side. You can see (by looking at the other picture) that it sits a lot lower. Not much weight in the car and it needs to be driven a bit to get things to settle in. This is about what I expected from looking at other cars. Steve O did a great job of documenting his car when he went through all this. Looks like it's on track to me.

Spiffav8 04-01-2008 07:09 PM

Todays the day! Everyone keep there fingers crossed! :willy:

Nine Ball 04-02-2008 01:03 PM

Cool pics, I dig that one showing the car ala "pro-jackstands" in the garage. That car is going to look killer with the new stance and RS nose kit installed.

Just up the street and back for now. Still no hood on it, have to adjust the radiator tomorrow and make sure the front wheels are setup proper before I take it for a good run. If I'm lucky I can have it all buttoned up tomorrow. If not by Friday for sure.

It sounds good and even though I wasn't getting on it, there was plenty of power.

Spiffav8 04-03-2008 07:24 AM

Headed down to ATS today.....in my Camaro. :unibrow: It will be the first time the Bucket has hit the road in FOUR MONTHS! Silly I know but I'm excited! Pictures soon.

Rybar 04-03-2008 09:37 AM

Congrats Curtis, sounds like you had a mad thrash to the finish line. Now go drive that thing and post some burnout vids

awr68 04-03-2008 03:07 PM

We need update pics/vid!!
Also what are your thoughts on how the car drives with all the changes? I'm sure it's a lot differant!!

Spiffav8 04-03-2008 11:44 PM

Just a few finishing touches and it will be worthy of photos. Right now it looks like a school bus of kids eating ice cream had there hands on it.

Tyler and Russ once again took really good care of me. They have gone so far above and beyond!!!

Nine Ball 04-04-2008 07:22 AM

Come on, post pics of it rolling with no hood. With you in a mullet wig standing next to it.

Spiffav8 04-06-2008 08:25 AM

Guess I better go out and take some pictures to post.

About Time!!!

Well it's finally back on the road and running very well. There are a few bugs to work out but there's always a shake down period after changing things out.

Honestly, the car wouldn't be anywhere close to being finished if it wasn't for the tremendous support I received from four great guys.

Tyler and Russ from ATS gave up there weekends to support the cause, lending know how and experience. They drove at least 30 minutes to my house and made several trips to the shop for various tools or parts that we needed.

Jesse too made several long trips all the way from the other side of town to help. He did a lot of wiring and a bit of welding on the car, making sure the RS kit was installed properly and working right.

Aj...Well, he did a lot of everything. His willingness to jump right in and get to it was impressive. The kind of guy your glad to have in your corner.

I also received a lot of support and motivation from many of my fellow :lateral: members. Thanks for keeping me on track.

Here are a some pictures of things getting finished up.

A few shots of it soaking up the sun shine. Can't wait for the springs to give and the ride height to drop! :unibrow:

So what do you think guys?
