Started work on the front inner fenders also. I wanted it to match the frame better and make them a bit wider for more tire clearance.
There is no need for the control arm hole to be so big so it was brought out to the edge of the control arm mount about 3/8" clearance all the way around. Also the back side was lengthened so it covers the sub frame more, keeping some tire debris off the subframe and firewall. Tim is real good at working metal. Shrinking, stretching, and using a big hammer he made the crown in the metal and gave the front inner fenders more tire clearance. There will be a bit more detail in them but that will be on the next update. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05453.JPG http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05452.JPG Here is the driver side almost done. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05451.JPG |
Childs play.....
If your name is Tim Badboy Bruning.....:unibrow: |
Very nice work Tim! :hail:
Thanks for sharing, Bob! It's a much needed detail when using those frames/suspension! |

It looks like it's going to be tricky getting shims in place.
|
WOW!! looks awesome.Just get it alined before you bolt on the front sheet metal. That's what I did and worked out real nice.
|
nah the shims will go in from outside the frame rail plenty of room to get them in and out.
|
Well both inners are done now.
http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05625.JPG Here are some pics of the exhaust and tranny cross member, since I had a chance to get it on a lift. Rodger isn't the only one with CAD drawings LOL!! http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...y_x-member.jpg http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05630.JPG http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05631.JPG I had Stainless Works make me some mufflers that I designed. It allows the exhaust the use of the cut out or when closed, it flows thru the rest of the muffler and then out the back valance. My neighbors are going to hate me. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05632.JPG http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05633.JPG http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05636.JPG Tailpipes go thru the valance, with a nice bead around the opening. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...ro/8secHI1.jpg |
Are you painting this red white and blue also?
|

Hmm I'll talk to Ben see what it looks like in a rendering!! |

Looking good, wish I would have taken a little more time on the front fender wells. That radiator is probably going to be tight with the Pro Charger.

Love it Bob!
I think you should market the mufflers -- or at least -- sell that design idea because it's killer! See ya Friday? |

If your spending the night in town I could meet ya for dinner. |
Looks awesome. Nice work.
I love the SW muffler idea. |
Those front inner fenders look great, Bob. I will need to do something similar (running same WD sub) so I will definitely look to yours for inspiration! Car is looking great -Rob
|
It looks hmmm, another way of saying badass... meanbutt?
|
Exhaust looks awesome
Tell me more about the tubing tim used..... I know he uses food grade ss. Alot of you curved pipes look like one continous piece... Like over you axle.... I assume that tim's awesome welding and finishing rather than one true pipe section with all those curves. There looks like there is a welded in piece right before the x pipe that wasn't metal finished, so I was just wondering Looks awesome |
from the muffler, over the axle is 4 or 5 pieces I think.
There is alot to go around with the quadra link. |
paint it already! :P
|
Oregon resident too huh? Looks great. Love the back end, and those front inners, nice job.

Here is a small update on the engine compartment.
Here is a fan shroud that I had laser cut, and then Tim bent the ends up and welded to the radiator. They are Spal fans and should pull alot of hot air. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...amaro/fans.jpg I had Tim straighten the radiator support. By straightening it we gained over an inch for the intake on the supercharger. Also made mounts for the intercooler. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05980.jpg Since the radiator support was made straight the hood latch is going to get modified. I also made a new front end support and had it laser cut. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05975.jpg All the intercooler plumbing is now done and it looks real good. Tim is real good at laying stuff out, making sure stuff is symmetrical. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05973.jpg This is why I have two different size fans. The intake on the supercharger needs to go somewhere. http://www.automotivedesigneng.com/g...o/DSC05978.jpg as usual more updates later... |
