20 min. west of Milw. Same temperature, same dam snow!
Just asking for future reference when I get to that point some day.

Here's the dyno sheet.... Katech thought it would make close to 650hp with their cam and the Kinsler IR intake, but it made slightly more.

This cam sacrifices extreme top end pull to make mid-range torque, and does it ever. The torque numbers are awesome, and look how the motor just shuts off after making peak hp at 6200.

camcojb 02-23-2009 05:26 PM

that's enough to make the car a blast to drive.

Jody

ironworks 02-23-2009 05:33 PM

Wow that is awesome torque.

Rodger

awr68 02-23-2009 05:52 PM

Impressive!

Man, I just can't get over what these LSx motors can do...if I could only do mine all over again!! :hail:

tones2SS 02-24-2009 04:28 AM

That is going to be fun.
Nice torque/horsepower numbers.
Now is this a stock crate engine LS7 with the Katech cam and Kinsler intake being the only 2 modifications?

XcYZ 02-24-2009 05:27 AM

Pretty much a stock LS7...Kinsler IR intake (with what you see for air cleaners), Katech Torquer cam, new valve springs, retainers, headers with 2" primaries, and a BS3 ECM.

It's the same cam I'm running in my car, which Katech claims will make 610hp at the crank, so the Kinsler intake stepped it up considerably.

tones2SS 02-24-2009 08:20 AM

WOW!
That is cool. Katech make some great products. Thanks for the reply.

customcam 02-24-2009 03:50 PM

Fantastic Scott!!!!

Katech does make some great products - I won't disagree BUT...

Kinsler makes some AWESOME products.

When I heard the dyno numbers from the cross ram last year I was blown away. There are so many discussions about how the LS7 intake can't be beat (and almost nobody else has been able to) but the ITB intakes are just increadible.

I guess your nitrous kit is going to sit on the shelf for a while?

waynieZ 03-05-2009 03:26 PM

Thanks

Thanks Kurt and Scott I knew I had seen them before but couldn't remember where.

DB Z28 03-15-2009 05:21 PM

Car realy looks outstanding. I have one question on the dry sump tank .I see a lot of people doing this. The breather hose to breather tank with a U bend going to the sump tank. Will the oil pool in the line going to the breather and shut off the air off to the breather tank. Anybody run in any problems with this set up. Im starting to set mine up. I thought the breather tank line should be slighly higher with no bends
down so that oil in the line will drain back to the sump tank.
