Hey John,
I haven't been there since we last met. I'm going to try and fly down next weekend, hopefully Rodger can pick me up at the airport. Rich |
Rich,
Progress looks good. I like the floor design, definately helps with ground clearance, and looks from the back. Are you running a back seat? |
Sweet! Back seat or not?
Nice tranny x-member too!! |
Yes, I'm installing a back seat.
It shouldn't be too hard :_paranoid |
Actually Rich, looking at your pics it won't be as hard as you think! Mine was a little challenging too with the roll bar, 4-bar x-member and upper link boxes coming up threw the floor....you will be fine!
|
Damn, Rodger, you do nice work!
|
With the addition of the Callies Crank, Diamond pistons and Manley rods what kind of PSI will I be able to put to the motor?
I have a feeling I'm limited to the procharger system because of the drive belt? I'm not looking for 20 PSI but I was hoping to get somewhere between 12 - 15 Is the D-1SC capable of that? Rich |

My understanding is the D1SC is capable of much more than that if you'd like :) http://www.procharger.com/models.shtml |

Brycen has been with me for over 3 years, He sold his Playstation to move to Cali from Columbus Ohio. He has poured his heart and soul into everything from one of the many tube chassis Novas, to tons of 55-59 chevy trucks, to touring buses for mexican R&B bands, Oh wait we are not supposed to brag about that one,:_paranoid :_paranoid Somedays I wonder if Brycen ever misses that Playstation. I have a really good crew and for some reason the most unattractive guy in my shop ( ME ) gets the credit, when we all need each other to do what we do at the level of work we do. Everyone from the customers to the guy who gets bathroom duty this month. |

and yeah sometimes i miss the playstation:P |
I think all of your guys are great
Being a business owner myself I can really appreciate how hard it is to find qualified people. My hats off to everyone at the Ironworks shop  |
Yeah! That Brycen guy is OK! LOL!
Eveyone at Ironworks is a master! Even Rodger! LOL! John |
F1 Procharger
Since the lower end is getting the full treatment we decided to add a bigger huffer.
Rodger installed this cog belt system, moved the AC pump lower and added an idler pulley. Here are a couple pics of the progress. http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/f1-1.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/f1-2.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/f1-3.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/f1-4.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/f1-5.jpg |
awesome pics - thank you for sharing.
ps - did you guy's think you can teach Kenny how to take pictures. I've tried and it just doesn't seem to help. |

Is that a F1 blower? The work looks killer
|
It is actually an F3 I had laying around from some other projects. We are using that as a mock up since the Transmission section of the blower is the same for all the F series blowers. Rich's mockup F-1 should be here later this week. The Cog system will be quite an improvement over the 6 rib system we were going to add into the Synister set up. We still have to relcoate the AC down below, We are water jet cutting those brackets today.
3-5 more wheeks for the new shoes. I can't wait. Rodger |

Nice. So is their a fire sale yet on the old D1SC?
|
Nope that was another mock up housing from brians 63. We buy mock up housings on all the Project cars we do and set up the Housing to what we want for each application, before we have the guys put in each blower.
Hay Rich what wheels? I don't know anything about no wheels :D |
I just spent 30 minutes on prochargers website looking at F1 blowers with LS based engines. I could only find 3 or 4 different setups and each one was different than the other.
I will have to make a special trip down there for the engine dyno. I figure that's 3 - 4 months away though :_paranoid |
A little update on the project:
The rear bumper is fit up and ready to be welded then sent out for chrome. http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/bumper.jpg The exhaust is fit up and ready for welding. What an awesome job on the exhaust! http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/exhaustfit-1.jpg AC condensor brackets that hold up the core: http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/condensor-1.jpg http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/condensor-2.jpg A little body work. http://eastbayerectors.com/camaro/markerlight.jpg Rich |
It is looking good Rich.

You know Eric, it does feel like I'm out of place at Rodgers shop with all you Nova guys.
Next time I'll take my camaro and stand in the corner. ;) Rich |
The score may even real soon, I'm supposed to pick up 2 Camaro's in Vegas to work on during SEMA. Plus there are few others that may end up here in the next few months. Just like novas you work on one and they all come out of the woodwork.
I did get a call yesterday about a full tube chassis 67 Camaro, That might be interesting. We will have to see. Rodger |

I think Rodger is correct..... there will be more Camaros in his shop. Rumor has it that lots of people have those cars...... --Eric |
Nice looking project! Did you say you made the brackets for the Procharger and acc?
|
We are modifying the Synister System to Install a Cog belt F1 Procharger. We moved the AC down low added 2 idlers and Are working on a strout double shear F1 bracket.
