Lots of work has been happening on the Krate.. just not much posted here. :)

Go to www.camaroperformers.com and you can find a bunch of tech stories.

The DSE suspension is in place and this week I build the 416 stroker LS3 for her.

The next big step is paint..

waynieZ 12-22-2010 11:40 PM

Hey Steve is the engine going to be installed in Cali. or is Pete installing it?

dave96dcm 10-20-2011 07:05 AM

What happened? Is the car done?

Steve1968LS2 12-02-2011 11:26 AM

Making progress.. the body is looking good and we just mated the 416 LS3 stroker to the DSE subframe. Pete over at Comp Specialties is doing a killer job. Also bolted on the Hurst Driveline Conversion's TKO-600 and Centerforce clutch.

Lots of bodywork was needed, sort of slowed the project down, but it's moving much faster now.

Nice to see the update. I remember seeing this car in the shop before it was started. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Rybar 12-05-2011 11:13 PM

Thanks for the update Steve, I'm sure Nick is stoked

waynieZ 12-07-2011 02:31 PM

Thanks for getting me in trouble! When I stood up after seeing this car porn my wife asked what I was looking at to get so excited. When I told her it was an engine I don't think she believed me.
That looks sweet!! Very nice guys.

syborg tt 12-07-2011 02:51 PM

That whole suspension and engine/trans setup is a thing of beauty!

Here's the latest on Project Orange Krate.
I have to send major "props" to Pete at Competition Specialties in Walpole, MA. for keeping this project alive. As you can see here, he has put every ounce of his heart and soul into this car. I have to give a shout out to Chuck Vranas who has been doing an excellent job of capturing the build for every article in Camaro Performers magazine. Thus far the project has taken over two years and the attention to detail is paying off dramatically.
Those Lateral-g wheels from Boze make the car look absolutely fantastic and the stance comes by way of the DSE subframe and QUADRALink rear suspension system.
I have to thank Zak and Larry for building such a killer-looking wheel.
Keep following along in the magazine as this project is really starting to come together.

Nick the car looks awesome you have to be very happy. I also enjoy reading all of the articles on the car.

Got a quick question. What size tires are you guys running on the car ?
