Kenny and his crew stayed at the same hotel as we did this year at Columbus Goodguys... Great group of guys! Good luck to Kenny and all his friends and family! My prayers are with you for a speedy and full recovery!
|
Thats great news that he is actually healing quite quickly for such a major injury. I guess all the prayers are working.
|
Wow . . .... I just noticed this. We met Kenny @ GoodGuys this year & he definitely treats everyone like a friend.
My thoughts & best wishes to his immediate family & close friends. I hope he continues this positive recovery! ScotI DFW TX |

I will say a few prayers for the man.

Just got a text from Angie...Doc said everything looks great and they are moving Kenny out of ICU. No word on the new room number, but he has improved enough to be moved to a regular room.:D
|
Just heard from his Dad that he is sitting up today, feeding himself, and complaining so that sounds like our boy!
This thread is just one more reason this is such a great commuinty of people. |

I've received two text messages from Angie.
11-09-08 8:30am He was able to eat breakfast this morning and he is sitting up in a chair. 11-09-08 2:25pm The message i Just received from Angie that the Doctor came in today and said everything looks great and to move Kenny out of ICU. Shocking - It really seems like this is going to go down in history as another one of these Great Kenny Stories. I can't thank everyone enough for all of the support and Prayers. |

out of ICU
Kenny is being transferred to Room 1125 and out of ICU this is a huge step. Once again he is at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, Ok. As far as I know visiting hours are from 9am-6:00pm and 8pm-10pm but I will verify that after I go over there this evening.

Sounds like is going to pull through just fine. That great to know. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Great to hear he is going to a regular room today! :woot:
What did they say about his eye...will he have full vision? That Kenny sure is tuff as nails!! |
glad to hear he is doing well!
It is always the little things or unsuspected things that get ya, a friend in the Porsche 914 world (I have a tube chassis 914 with 525HP SBC) had jacked his car up in the air and used a jackstand to hold it up - one of the mondo ones to top it off. The jackstand failed, dropped the car and crushed his head between the shop floor and the rocker of the car (these cars are low BTW)! His wife heard the screaming and knew enough to get the jack and jack the car up off of him. He too survived (had some dental issues from it) and it is amazing what the body can take, but just goes as a reminder to take extra care even in the most mundane or seemingly safe of situations. I use 2 jackstands and leave the jack in place if there is room now every time I work on the car for example. sorry for the slight hijack but wanted to throw that info out there as historically I have been very trusting of a single jackstand. Again, glad to hear he is pulling through. |

Update
guys, just talked to travis, kenny is still doing awesome, getting better by the min, he is off all his monitors, off his i.v drip. the doctors are blown away by this, and we can only cross our fingers that he keeps infection away. Everyone keep him in your thoughts.

Off the monitors is a good thing. Go Kenny
|
Just heard from Angie that Kenny was moved to a private room (can't imagine why a perfect stranger in ailing health wouldn't want to be roomed with Kenny and his revolving door of visitors) and the new room # is 1120 and being a private room, his visiting hours are increased but call Angie on his cell phone first to make sure he isn't getting a sponge bath or the like.....
We love you Bro and everyone is thinking about you! |
Remarkable recovery...go Kenny GO!:hail:
|
Somebody give him a Lap top if he's up to it. I bet he would love to hear all the great things you guys are saying about him. I never met him but it seams to me there's alot of friends out there to support him. Get well Soon Kenny, maybe will meet up sometime

Glad to hear things are on the upswing!! My prayers have been with you and your family Kenny. Get well soon

Okay, I just got off the phone with Travis and we are all in shock.
Kenny is going to have another Scan in the morning and if it's good then he may get to go home by the weekend. He will still have to go back weekly for check ups but the news just keeps getting better every day. So for everyone that was going to be sending him something send it to Travis and he will deliver it to him. Travis Ball 13821 Toepfer rd garfield, Ar 72732 ps For a man that was this close to death and to be going home so soon it truely is a miracle. |
