Agreed, since the car is devoid of just about all polished trim, etc, save for the small hood pin rings. I do think a red pinstripe to match the grille would look killer though since there isn't anything eye catching below the middle body line. We all have our own opinions though, and I'm sure it looks different in person.

I love the reverse scoop, intake in the hood BTW, and all of the attention to detail put into the car.

You guys nailed it, again!!!

Highly disagree with G. This car does not need ANY chrome on it. I understand your concept here and its..SICK!

I understand the whole mono look but those nice assss wheels need at leats a chrome lip IMO just to black and not even shiny just such a killer car that color really needs some chrome, but thats just me.
But man i havent seen a car with better fit and finsih than this car!:hail:

Awesomecar!! Just one question.Where does the license plate go? is this not going to be a street car?

Doug Harden 12-24-2009 08:06 PM

Didn't read every post, but I'd like to see a red pinstripe on the wheel lip instead of chrome....JMHO...

G-Body 12-24-2009 09:25 PM

You cant honestly tell me the rendering " the first pic of this thread" dosent look better than the finished product the rendering has the chrome lips and looks sweet assss. again not that theres anything awrong with the car it just looks unfinsihed with an all black wheel.

Kendall Burleson 12-24-2009 11:17 PM

No Chrome Killer

extralight 12-25-2009 04:25 AM

Simply unbelievable...such a beautifully designed and finished car.

mexMan 12-25-2009 07:50 AM

There should be something wrong about it! I mean, I don't get it! I though it was impossible to build the perfect car!

Al Moreno 12-25-2009 09:36 AM

Love it!, You guys are just hitting out of the ball park.

Congrats on another great build.

Bakaruda 12-25-2009 10:04 AM

Guys as a Mopar guy, I truly love the car. I have one question. The color looks like primer in the pics, is that just the way the pictures make it look?

Well said!!!

Roadster Shop 12-25-2009 01:13 PM

Definitely no chrome/polish on the car, so the wheels would look out of place. The door handles and door pulls are chrome in the pictures, but are going to be brushed or painted.

I like the idea of the red pinstripe on the wheel, we talked about it in the initial design phases, but have seen it on so many cars that it was some what of a turn off. We may still do it though.

Thanks to everyone else for the positive comments and acceptance of the car.

Roadster Shop 12-25-2009 01:16 PM

Joel,
The license plate will mount on a bracket between the roll pan and the rear end on a hinged bracket so it will not show when the car is parked.

Ketzer 12-25-2009 04:14 PM

The front and rear glass look like they still have factory-ish trim around them. Why not do flush mount with no trim?
Thanks,
Jeff-

... and about the wheels, I vote,

at first I agreed with the red stripe on the wheels... i now think that it should be the same gray as the body. I like the black wheels alot, but they need a little something ?

tones2SS 12-26-2009 01:16 PM

As usual, great work guys!!
Amazing work.

We built this car with the intention of selling it from the begining. Russo and Steele seemed like the best route since it is a reserve auction. We didn't want to take a chance at giving the car away at a no reserve auction, or have to buy it back and throw away money.

So, if anyone is interested, you can own this car. We have the reserve set at a very reasonable price for the detail level and amount of work that has gone into this build. (Sorry, but I can not share that number until the auction)

GHOSTDANCER 12-28-2009 12:26 PM

I would love to be able to bid on any of your builds. Good luck with the sale and maybe my lottery tickets will hit before then.

elitecustombody 12-28-2009 07:23 PM

think you guys gonna be able to recoup most of your money that went in this build? usually cars like this bring less than half that was invested, is the reserve under 75k?

bad-ass car,btw,

nvr2fst 12-28-2009 07:35 PM

Stephan, Keep in mind it was built "in house" as there car.
Not speaking for the Roaster Shop, but Im assuming it was hard cost payroll and material in lieu of customer rate billing. If its going for under 75k Id be surprised its worth more IMO

HOLOHAN'S HOT ROD SHOP 12-29-2009 06:42 AM

Awesome work, very impressive. Colors and graphics are spot on. Interior work is equally nice. Did Thrash do the graphics?

Roadster Shop 12-29-2009 06:43 AM

The reserve is definitely higher than $75K. I said it was a reasonable reserve, not that I was giving the car away. :) There is more than that in parts alone. We are fully aware of where the market is and what this type of car can realistically bring. All of that was kept in mind through out the build and design process.

"Usually"; as in what people on the internet 'think'.

Believe it or not, there ARE people out there that can build cars, and make a profit on them. It happens all the time. But not according to internet land.

Under $75k? Get real! If they'd sell that car for anywhere near that, no one in their right mind would even be fooling with these cars. Might was well just flush money right down the toilet, it'd be a lot easier.

I think you need to put a stripe on the lips to give it a feel their is a wheel on the car sitting still .Again KILLER JOB:willy: :willy:

RPM HOTRODS 12-30-2009 05:17 PM

Heck, I'll give you 75grand, finish paying for the interior that is getting done, I'll even pay you guys to finish it and work the bugs out. You can take your time on it too. Just tell me when it done. I'll even pick it up!!! I was thinking 175 would be a good reserve for you guys!!! I guess some people don't get out to see your work.
