I went to the shop today to start assembling my car. Was missing a part so have to wait until it gets here before I can finish. Hopefully next week it will roll! Test fitted my seat. The Bently leather came in today also. Wow it smells awesome!

I can vouch for the Nick Williams DBW 102mm throttle bodies. I have one for my FAST 102mm intake and it's a nice piece. Haven't ran it yet, but know several people who have and they are pleased with its performance.

Jeff

Black is my favorite color:thumbsup:

I did some more work today. Finished installing the subframe and installed a Currie center section into my Fab 9. Going to bolt in the rear end tomorrow and hopefully have the engine in tomorrow.

waynieZ 03-21-2012 07:45 AM

Very Nice John! That leather is going to look great in the car.

John510 03-22-2012 08:49 PM

Spent another 9 hours today putting her together. She sits about 3" too high in the rear and I have everything at its lowest point. Maybe I need some shorter shocks?

Rear end is in, engine/tranny mounted and got her rolling finally!

don't swap shocks till you get it all together. It will take time to settle. Nice work John....I hope your getting better valve covers later. :P.... or maybe just dip the engine in clear.

Yeah I have some carbon fiber valve covers I still need to install.

Will it settle at least 2 inches?

While I did not measure how much my car settled, it did lower significantly. I think two inches is possible. Give it awhile is my advice. If I recall correctly, it could take a couple months to settle to its lowest point.

ps...I added a couple of pictures to my build thread showing the settle over three months. I didn't want to post them here and jack your thread. Nice progress, btw.

Matt@BOS 03-23-2012 09:54 AM

I wouldn't worry right now. You still have A LOT of weight to add into the car. Sound deadening, carpet, seats, headliner, interior panels, glass, audio, front sheetmetal, exhaust, and fluids are going to add a significant amount of weight. I know Bryan just posted up pictures of his, and it isn't even done yet. When it is done, it is going to have to be raised not just once, but also after a few months of settling, maybe a third time after 9 months or so. DSE's springs never seem to stop settling. I've heard hypercoils are better, but who knows. I think with the 19" wheels your car's stance even with the G Bar will be just fine!

Matt

John510 03-23-2012 05:12 PM

For now the coil overs are removed and a metal rod was placed in there for the show to have it sit lower until I get my correct springs.

WCAC guys pulled an all nighter and got the Dynamat in and got it ready to be a roller. I have a permanent smile today knowing that it rolls! Manifold is still in production at Ozmo so that didn't get to be displayed.

I hate to sound like a copy cat but I have to agree with all the comments on the paint and bodywork....Friggin' awesome !!! I love the seats with the aluminum accent/supports...could you possibly tell me make them, I've spent hours searching the web and can't seem to find them...Thanks Ross

Blake Foster 03-24-2012 01:28 PM

Hey John car looks GREAT!!
to your question of will the car settle over time, Answer NO not at all with the Hyperco Springs.they are gaurenteed not to change in spring rate by more than 2% for 10 years if i remember correctly. You will need to geet shorter springs and shocks if your out of adjustment.
you now know the exact length of shock you need at ride heigth witht eh bars in the back so that will make it easy. you may still be able to reuse the springs. make sure the shock is close to the center of it's travel at ride height.

Its packing material. Its there so the console won't get scratched when they put it in and out. Just temporary
