ShadowGrayGuy 10-05-2011 09:42 AM

A "little 565" with FAST EFI .Yeah, I'm in the minority, but a 70 Chevelle just HAS to have a BBC in it, or it isn't a '70 Chevelle! Just my biased, uneducated opinion. Besides, a heavy front nose will make going around corners at 60+ mph interesting...

For me it was a hard choice between an LS and SBC. I fell in love with the Inglese and they don't have a manifold for the LS yet. The engine dyno'd at 565hp. I probably lost 50hp-80hp by going with an SBC over an LS but I have a simpler system to maintain and also keep the build with a more traditional/historical appearance.

Take Care - Jerry Clements

PS - I dont know why the pics uploaded so small. If you click on each photo they enlarge.

new cam with a bit more lift and duration (pump gas and to pull about 500 rpm out should make roughly the same power..) but basically staying the same and a custom carb by Brian Wheatley

damn why did i build an S10.. and not a 71 Camaro..

Thanks. Building the adapter to put the manual transmission on it right now. Just getting ready to move into a new house so everything is getting put on the back burner.

You know we'll be wanting to see pics of this build.

Something like this would be acceptable :unibrow:

As soon as I have them I will post'em. I am following the formula of a couple of Australian builders that have this engine over 500hp with the M112. So I am not exactly cutting new ground here. But I like this picture better.

I've always thought this engine would look right in my SC400!
http://i1339.photobucket.com/albums/...ps34c9345d.jpg
I've read there is a racing series down under that uses the 4.0 1UZ as a spec engine!

You'll find you won't get flamed on this site -- nobody tolerates that kind of stuff around here thankfully. We RESPECT all ideas and people.... Well... mostly.

I think you'll like that about Lat G!

Motor I'm going to use? The 3k mile dry sump LS3 I bought off of Racing Junk for $4500 now with Mahle pistons and Manley rods thanks to a cam not fitting. Just keep throwing Benjamin's at it and all your troubles will go away. Now trying to decide if I want GMPP ECM set up, FAST or Holley.......need more Benjamin's!
Time to sell my reliable Lateral G machine the C6 Z06, maybe I should use proceeds to buy back my X33 69 RS Xram JL-8 Z....how would this go over with my wife......for 1st 10 years of marriage that car had prized parking spot in garage while her ride was outside.....note to self need more shop space!

barrrf 03-28-2014 07:17 AM

LM7 with either twins or a decent single. Im still researching why 1 vs the other.........haven't made up my mind yet.

will69camaro 04-23-2014 03:34 PM

LSX427, 6 bolt heads, Fast 102R Intake, twin GT35R's. Should make 4 digit hp no issue.

CamaroMike 05-13-2014 04:00 PM

Anyone throw an LT4 in a pro touring car yet? :popcorn2:
