Tony,
I enjoyed talking with you at the local Friday night car show. The car looks better in person then the pics - top notch all the way around. It is very rare that I see one done right in my opinion - fit and finish, top quality parts, attention to detail, etc. I hope mine comes out close to that nice. Thanks for sharing some of the details about the build. Now I have to get back on mine... beck01 |
beautiful! - very tasteful- would love to hear the engine:D

Simply badass! Black, stock looking (body anyway) 69 z.....cant go wrong there!
I might have missed it, but what kind of power did you end up with at the wheels? Edit, just saw the video. Got goosebumps hearing that wind up. Awesome! |

Intercoolers
3 Attachment(s)
I thought I would share this with you forced induction guys.
When I was in the building stage of this car I took a short cut and went with a cheap ebay intercooler. While trouble shooting on why the car was down on power I discovered there was a 15psi DP across the intercooler due to the air flowing across a long narrow path of core creating the high DP. Bell designed me a intercooler that would allow the air to flow across a wide short core, which lowered the DP across the intercooler and allowed the car to put 835 HP to the tires a 125HP gain by swapping intercoolers. The ebay intercooler was a nice piece for the money it just wasn't a good design for what I had in mind. I hope this makes sense and keeps someone from making the same mistake I made. :) |
Crank case evac system
5 Attachment(s)
In order to keep oil mist from entering the combustion chamber and causing detonation I decided to install a new evac system. I went with 2 of the new re-designed Moroso breather tanks. The tanks now have an internal baffle with a stainless mesh to help separate the oil. I ran a -12 line from each valve cover to a individual tank. I hope the pictures are not to dark.

Love your car!!
Interesting info on the intercooler. I'm running the same type of intercooler that you were it looks like. Amazing you picked up 125 hp from swapping. Mine has a Vortech T-trim with an LS2 bottom end, LS3 heads. Has a mild cam in it but managed to put down 655 rwhp, 550 rwtq. I wonder if the intercooler is holding it back any... Not that it needs much more especially with a stock bottom end... :drive: Awesome car and thanks for sharing the info!! |

I just freshened up the engine a little bit. I Moved the coil packs down by the starter and oil filter. The Stainless Works headers are made out of a lower grade stainless that started rusting out so I sent them off and had them coated. Also had some re-anodizing and hydradipping done here and there.

Very clean. I like it.
What color or type of coating was done on the headers? Is that Cartek's Flip Kit I see in there too? I put that system on a Stage 2 Procharged C5Z06. It made a world of difference even with it just being a "stock" 8psi system. Pricey setup but fantastic design. |
You did a great job, engine sure looks good

The flip drive kit was the only way to go using the C6 engine brackets. Im making 16 psi boost without any belt issues. Quote:

It looks nice. I like it with the coils relocated.
