beautiful work Chris- i like the industrial look of the hood pin assembly- how do I get my hands on a few? The 69 is getting close- when is it getting painted?

Cris@JCG 02-11-2010 07:46 AM

Thank you!! Hope to be assembling this car soon!!

Thank you for the compliments!! I will be test fitting pcs this week to ensure that they are functional.. Once confirmed then I will sell them.. You will have to remove the hook on the hood latch that bolts to radiator support & recommend hood pins.. If this works for you, let me know..

Engine detail

Here is what the motor will looking like.. Lots of ARP bolts!!

Supercharger is finally installed & waiting for it to slip between frame rails!!!

scherp69 02-22-2010 09:12 PM

:omg: That looks sweet!!!! What pulley set up is that?

Cris@JCG 02-22-2010 09:32 PM

It is a Billet Specialties Trac System... When we ordered this Trac system from Billet Specialties they did not offer it for LS7, so we made our own crank pulley.. They now offer it for LS7.. Once the car is running & tuned then we will make a cover for the supercharger drive pulley to match the rest..

Palmer Paint & Customs

We are on the final assembly & modification on this 69. Alan Plamer is well know for his fit & finish. He hand fabricated the front bumper & rear 3 pcs spoiler.. & has done endless modification since the car was turned over to him.. We got one last thing that we need to decide.. Rear bumper guards or none.. What you guys think???

Looks AWESOME!

I vote no on the guards... or make them smaller

awr68 04-30-2010 05:27 PM

Car looks great! No guards!
The spoiler turned out nice...I love that look! ;)

Rick D 04-30-2010 05:30 PM

Everyone takes them off I say lose the top of them and blend in the lower part to fit with the slim lines on this awsome car. Cris what is the plan for the rear body panel?? Are you going two tone or will it be body color??

Vegas69 04-30-2010 05:34 PM

Nice work, they are so bulky. I like them on some cars, just not a resto mod so much.

tooblue 04-30-2010 05:52 PM

LOOOKIN great. . I like the look without guards, Looks less busy:thumbsup:

nvr2fst 04-30-2010 05:57 PM

Killer Cris!

Id omit bumper guards. If you really like the look maybe machine fab them smaller in height :unibrow:
What size tire is on the rear? Maybe its the photo. I know you stretched the quarters but the tire looks a little oversized by looking at the photo.
Fitment of all the panels looks top notch and the front bumper

Matt@BOS 04-30-2010 05:57 PM

Damn, the fit on the front end looks amazing. I also forgot, did you flare this car at all, or is that a different '69?

Matt

nvr2fst 04-30-2010 05:59 PM

Cris forget the tire thing. Its the angle of photo on the second picture thats throwing it off. Other photo angles are better

Ron in SoCal 04-30-2010 06:09 PM

It's beautiful, Chris. Kill the bumper guards...

Cris@JCG 04-30-2010 06:23 PM

Cowl Hood

Here is another modification that we need some input.. See how the cowl hood rear was brought all the way down to the cowl panel.. Opinions guys!!

Cris@JCG 04-30-2010 06:35 PM

Thanks for the compliments Dave! The rear tires are 345 30 19's..
I gotta get this car done before the ZR69 is completed :D

The car was going to be painted Tangelo Orange with white stripes.. Now it is ??? the car will be one solid color with black Z/28 stripes.. Now we gotta get the tires un-mounted so that the color in the centers can be changed.. gun metal gray or black:_paranoid

Matt- She is a "FATTY" & the first car we stretched.. The owner started by wanting fatter tires in the rear but did not want to mini tub it beacause it is real Z/28( working on making the original DZ motor into a coffee table) so I came up with this idea & the rest is history :D

rear bumper

Ok
I have to say car is looking good.
One thing i see that i have a suggestion on.
the rear bumper doesnt cover the lines on the tail panel. if you look at the rear shot just below the bumper , you see the lines in the tail panel.
Idea - split the bumper horizontal and add about 3/4 of an inch or so to make the bottom half of it to cover those lines that are stamped into the tail panel... I see alot of modded body camaros and people miss covering those or making them go away in the metal work.
Keep up the good work..

Tom

Well, this proves it---you are an amazing fabricator and artist bro---you've got serious skills--this thing is a real work of art--absolutely beautiful Cris---I like the bumper guards for some reason---keep the pics coming--one of the best builds happening right now.

Doug

Cris@JCG 04-30-2010 08:51 PM

Thanks Tom! The owner of the car caught that today.. We will be working on that!!

Nice looking Camaro. It has been well thought out. As far as the scoop to cowl clearance issue have you ever thought of forming a pocket in the cowl area adajacent to where the scoop edge aligns when the hood is closed and extending the edges of the lower rear edge of the scoop downwards so that this area will ride inside the pockets somewhat, therefore eliminating the gap. Cris@JCG 04-30-2010 09:01 PM

Thanks Mario & Doug but the credit goes out Palmer Paint & Customs on the latest body mods & body work on this one.. & the owner.. he just keeps catching the smallest details for us to make this car the best 69 we can come up with.. Right now we are dimensioning to make custom stainless washers for fender bolts to use 6 pt ARP fasteners for the front sheet metal assembly... The one thing we can't stand is when you tighten a fender bolt & it lifts the paint.. We are going to machine the washer with a tappered undercut to help with that problem.. & a few more items we are going to make custom.. :unibrow: :unibrow:
