David Caradine? I remember grasshopper!

What the hells patience?

Anyways the next two I am looking at are a 78 Trans Am and a 73 Camaro.

I just called about the camaro and he said $2,000. It's got a 454 but it's not hooked up yet and the interior is all original. I asked about the rust and he said there surprisingly wasn't very much at all, but I think we all know how that goes. I am going to look at it tomorrow after school. I hope it turns out good because I would really like to have one.

The T/A is a 78 but it's been converted into a 79.. The interior is really nice and it's a manual car which is cool and raises the value ALOT. I am going to daily drive whichever car I get so it might not be all that great lol.. The engine got water in the intake so I would have to build an engine for it. The car is $1600 delivered to my house. Pics up in a little bit.

Here are some pics of the Road Runner and Charger. The more I think about it, the more I want to go back for the Charger. I mean it's not the best looking muscle car but damn, $500! And those 440's are freaken huge. Also it's got 9,000 miles lol..

If that 73 camaro is in decent shape get it (after you beat him up on price) it will be cheaper to get parts for than any of the mopars and they are great looking cars to begin with. BBC parts are getting cheaper by the day as long as you just build a strong street motor and dont go overboard in aftermarket parts. The sheet metal prices are not too bad either. Give it a really good look and let us know. Of course pictures are always good too.

There will be plenty of pictures. :D

And I already beat him up and dropped the price from $3,000.

Eric nor I will let you have those Mopars -- they're just too far gone for what you want to do..

:>)

Yup, we will not LET you.....

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics of the Camaro.

TreySmith 01-12-2010 04:25 PM

Ok so I went to go look at the car today and my God, this was the nicest thing I have ever seen. Hardly a drop of rust and the 454 IS hooked up. He said it would crank up and run but it's been sitting a while. It's got Trans Am interior but it's all there, it's also got a retro diamond headliner lol... The rust is just a little bit on the edge of the trunk lid. He wants $2500 but all I have is $2200. Hopefully I can find a way to come up with the rest by this weekend. I want this thing so bad.

Pics up after I eat.

70rs 01-12-2010 04:31 PM

Cool! Just go sell a kidney, easy money man....:D

TreySmith 01-12-2010 04:54 PM

Here are the pics, I am going to try and borrow some money. He said he would hold the car for me until Sunday. I have this crazy excited feeling I never got it with any of the other cars I have looked at except for the 80' Trans Am..

He backed into the car one day which is why the nose is pushed in just a little.

That looks like a buy Trey, anyway I would buy it for that lol

My friend that went with my to look at the car told his dad about it and he loaned me the $300!! I am so happy right now, I can't wait to go pick it up. I just need to find a way to get it home and it would probably be a good idea to talk to my mom about it too lol.

70rs 01-12-2010 06:32 PM

Well I say you are golden compared to the others you have posted! Nice car, I hope it all works out and you get it Trey!

If you do, and there is any stock parts you need CHEAP just let me know, I have some misc parts laying around from my '70 and need to make some room.

I knew the right car was out there for you, you just had to wait for it to show itself. Nice work!!

TreySmith 01-12-2010 06:40 PM

Thanks!

What's funny is that this is the one car I looked at that didn't have pictures. All the other cars looked fine in the pics yet this one was perfect and I just went to see it without even knowing what it looked like. It's kinda hard to explain.

It's funny how things work out sometimes. Keep us posted on how it goes.

TreySmith 01-13-2010 07:23 PM

Well, it's a done deal now. I just need to go pick it up. I have no clue where to start on what color or rims etc.. Most likely going to convert it to a split bumper. Gonna spray paint some flames on it for now though lol :D

Rattle can flames on an old camaro? Classic!

Don't worry about color, wheels, or any of that yet. Just get it home and clean it up and take stock of what you need vs. what you want and go from there. Once you know what has to be dealt with you can make a plan of attack and jump in.

I am really happy for you that you found a solid car. It looks like the waiting was worth it.

Remember.....LOTS OF PICTURES....

tgvettes 01-14-2010 06:22 AM

I'm very happy for you, looks like a great find. My First car was a 70 Camaro
and when I'm done with my 63 Nova Convertible and 68 Camaro that I am working on now I will get another 70-73 to mimic my first car.
Great buy Trey

TreySmith 01-14-2010 04:24 PM

Just picked it up today! It's been raining and I forgot to cover up the 50 cent piece sized hole in the windshield, I am sure it will be fine. I can't wait to really look at the car, it was dark when we got back.
