I noticed in a few posts back there was a camaro nose in front of the fresh subframe. Is yours getting repainted? What happened?

Thank you, we are curious how it will perform too. Once we get it all tuned we plan to strap it on a dyno and get some real numbers to the ground. As for the nose you see in the pics, that is the nose from the car. I just have no place for it right now since we have so many parts coming in so I have to put it there when im not working on the frame lol

It must have been a reflection in the paint. It looked like it had been scuffed back down for a reshoot.

70TWO NOVA 01-12-2011 07:34 PM

Oh yeah its just really dusty. I could see how it may look scuffed.

That looks awesome Brian. Good job. What did you use to sand down the intake? Just wondering if you used good old muscle with sand paper or an angle grinder first? I'm debating about doing mine body color, but haven't decided. It's covered in the little dimples.

vannatta20 01-18-2011 04:59 PM

Im sure Brian used muscle. He is a machine when it comes to sanding. I could wet sand half a door and brian would be done with the entire front end. Looks like someone made a lot of progress.....I have a brand new MAF if interested.. Its a 5 wire. Looks great! Wish I could help.

70TWO NOVA 01-18-2011 05:16 PM

Thanks guys, and Mitch I wish you could help too! lol As for the intake I sanded it down by hand with 180 grit then filled the casting holes in the top with red filler putty to even it out. Then a couple coats of 2K high build primer, later ill wet sand the primer with 600 grit then some color and clear.

Also ill need that MAF Mitch, let me know how much

Finished stripping out the old carpet and tar paper today. That was quite the chore. We also put down a coat of POR-15 to give the sound deadening insulation a good foundation to stick to.

Yeah i'm sure. I got a headache just tryin to figure out my 6AL box/ignition problem even with your help haha. remeber? I'm sure it will all come out nice.

70TWO NOVA 02-08-2011 10:07 PM

Yeah haha! That was such a pain in the butt lol Yeah I have learned alot from all the cars.

vannatta20 02-11-2011 09:58 AM

Great progress!

That highway 15 kit is great. Its amazing how many wires you really only need. I suggest getting a couple of fuse blocks. 1 for ignition and 1 for constant though. The ECM has like 3 ignition wires and 2 or 3 constant. Mount those close the the ecu. I did the remote solenode as well and my car cranks fine even at 0 degrees here. Never had any issues either in 115 heat.

70TWO NOVA 02-11-2011 01:14 PM

thanks, I was kinda wondering what I needed for power on the engine harness. I will prob get another aux fuse block to send power to the PCM. I could piggyback off current circuits in the Highway 15 kit but im afraid of power draw and surges that may screw with the computer. Hopefully Ill have the SSP harness this weekend

novaboy7272 02-13-2011 10:57 AM

yeah i was about to suggest to do all those things but. . . .yeah:_paranoid

Skullcandy 02-13-2011 03:07 PM
