Sweet it looks great.
|
Looks great Cris. Is it possible for you to post additional pics showing how you built the spoiler or possibly explain how you did it? I'm planning something similar. Thanks.

Tail lights
My tail light idea is close to being designed... gotta get LED lights before we can get some parts machined to finish design... :D

Thanks Mike! We are machining them out of steel & welding them to the tail panel...

Cris, awesome job! How do you determine what the angle of the spoiler should be?
|
We made templates out of cardboard set them on the side to see where the angle would look the best.. then we fabricated corner pcs out of sheetmetal & looked @ it a every angle to see where I was going to like the position..
Here are some more pics of it completed.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0489.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0490.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0491.jpg Assembling the rear suspenion back in the car today.. loading motor & trans.. & want to see what it looks like in the ground... All I know is that this 68 is fat!! Quote:

Very nice Cris. Amazing work you guys do!

Engine in car!!
All week we have been finishing some welding last fab work on the stretch.. so were ready for the motor & trans to start the exhaust & plumbing..
I also installed my rear tires so that we can see how the stretch & the car looks on the ground.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0525.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0521.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0520.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0517.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0518.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0519.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0522.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0524.jpg |

Cris --
Can you climb up one of those racks and get me some better shots?? :D Looks just killer man! |
Looks great! Sits nice!!
|
That rear tire/wheel combo is swallowed up so perfectly. Killer work man.
|
Very nice. Man, that is mean looking.
|
That looks sick! As always, great work Cris.
Incidentally, can I ask what's going with the IROC-Z in the background? |
Thanks guys for the compliments! The owner of this 68 has allowed me to do many things I have been wanting to do for awhile... He told me " build it as if it were your own".. Sometimes he has to keep me in check or I would have gone further on body mods.. Starting the dry sump oil system plumbing this week..
Four wheel disc brake conversion with wheel & tire upgrades.. Talk about LS conversion.. but we will see.. Quote:

very nice!
|
Exhaust
We are off to a good start on the exhaust.. I wanted the exhaust to tuck under the sub-frame & transmission support that we were using before was not helping us.. so we ended up using the x-member brace as a transmission support with a few modification to the floor..
http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_0613.jpg |
Very nice work Chris!
Does the mount bolt to the convert braces? |
Yes Kevin.. We had to add some stiffening braces & additional bolts to secure it..

Looks great. Keep us posted Cris.

Exhaust x- box
The exhaust x-box is in place & exhaust system is fitting nicely!

Looks awesome Cris.
|
Holy Moly
|
Is that exhaust "x-box" going to leave enough room for the driveshaft under full suspension travel? it's just that it looks real tight in the pics

Thanks, Tim |
I love that cross member idea. I might have to try that out.

We took that into consideration when fabing the box... It is tight!!
