I think once the car is together, the drilled out door handles will make more sense. The wipers are also drilled. It harkens back to race cars of old as a way of trimming as much fat as possible. This car should be pretty light considering the big block. I just hope the car doesn't whistle at speed, ha ha!

bobwires 09-26-2010 10:09 AM

This car is really looking amazing. Nice work.

I've got a question about your carbon parts - I do some carbon myself, but I haven't been able to find wider cuts than 54" at my normal suppliers. Where do you get carbon wide enough for a hood?

looks awesome Matt

Thanks Marty, We're all pretty excited about it! Still a lot of work to be done in a few weeks, but Steve and the boys are cranking (I help out when I can).

Scott,

They're new Wilwood units. They are mounted to the firewall, but they are also made to hang as well, I believe. Steve made a dead pedal to match.

Cris@JCG 09-28-2010 07:58 PM

Looking good Matt!!

What about the gas pedal??

Cris, you know more about these pedals than just about anyone. What can you say about them? Steve has the gas pedal, but hasn't mounted it when I took this shot. I'm back in TX as of today, but will be back in CA this Saturday. I'll get more updated shots then, which should show the car a lot further along.

Cris@JCG 09-29-2010 07:34 AM

Scott- These are the new swing mount pedals from Wilwood.. The pedals are forged aluminum & the pads are coined stamped stainless.. Offered in front & reverse mount.. you use some compact master cylinders.. I f you need more info.. PM me..

Budget - now that's funny. I think the real name is project creep. Everyone can say that have a budget but then they go to the internet and see all of the insane builds and it's all over.

tones2SS 09-30-2010 06:59 AM

Very nice Matt. Looks great. Those are sweet looking pedals.

The WidowMaker 09-30-2010 07:48 PM

nice pedal assembly. everyone comes out with newer crap right after i buy it. ive got the older style of those pedals and im still trying to figure out how to put new pads on them. their new design is pretty sweet.

Cris@JCG 09-30-2010 07:55 PM

I can get you replacement pedals if want... you just keep the base you already have... If you ordered a Wilwood 340- 3950.. we can get them replaced... I just looked in my junk pile!!! I have a set..

You don't have room for a junk pile!

Matt
I know of something very cool being delivered to you today!! Put some pics up so we can see.

ANVIL1 10-03-2010 05:03 PM

Here is a pic of the front half of the wheels before the back hoops are welded on. Larry Dove, president of Evod Industries e-mailed them to me. I just got back from Texas yesterday, so I haven't had a chance to go up to Pure Vision to see them, but Larry dropped the wheels off there on Saturday. I'll be going up there tonight or tomorrow. I'll be sure to take more pics then so I can post updates.

ANVIL1 10-08-2010 04:56 PM

Sorry for not having any updates for awhile. I've been thrashing along with Steve and the boys and had to get some get the panels fit for paint and didn't want to hold up progress.

Here's a shot of the wheels with the back hoops welded on and the tops of the spokes machined. They look killer and they're still not done.

Wow MaTT --- Looks absolutely killer!

Far better than when I saw you this summer in the shop sanding away.... :D

Really like the mixture of the gloss and satin together.

So where did i miss all the exhaust? how is it routed with the sub-frame and such? did you get into the interior of the car with it or under the sub-frame?:_paranoid

68/Camaro 10-09-2010 08:06 AM
