Leadfoot,

What brand is your top? Our window is glass, but has the stupid seam AND you still have to unzip it and lay it down anyways.,..... I would be curious to know if I could buy that window and zip it in....... if you know the brand let me know and I will talk to them!

Thanks for the compliments.

Leadfoot1 08-22-2011 08:07 AM

Hey Tyler,

top is an E-Z on...talk to Vic at http://www.topsonline.com/
also known as Vics Uphosltery shop, look around the net he is well known and has a VERY good reputation. On top (nu pun int) of things, i paid a very good price compared to what was asked for lower quality tops and i could not say enough about the quality of the service, even for us being in Canada!!!

Vic is a stand up guy he sent me samples of the canvas prior to my purchase and was always ready to anwser my question (prior to going with a triple black i had tought of a triple red and he had sent me a sample of a really firery red that could have been Veeeeery cool to do).

Anyway, i had seen this window like yours and there was no way i was going to have this in my car as i had seen other unit turned yellow in the seam from sun and time....I would personnally have done regular plastic over the seem. Your car being higher caliber than mine is why i permitted to do the comment, i could not understand the move, now i do.

Only thing i seem to notice is that my rear window looks to be somewhat smaller than yours. Looks like i have more material at the base of the window than your (looks more ''Gangster'' Lol!!!)

Anyway, check with Vic, just call him up, he is available.

Hope it helps!

Car is stunning no matter that little line!

Mario

So the SEMA push is on!!! We are finishing up all the plumbing right now, wiring loose ends, and our cnc machining. Picking off the list steady now!

Finished modifying the marquez panels for interior, they are off to get covered.

Here is the first coil pack cover.... we tried to mimic the look of the supercharger top. They look awesome on the car, took them off to media blast them so they match the blower.

Looking good

64pontiac 09-16-2011 09:06 AM

knockin some stuff of the list, got the intake done to send out for finishing.

Tons of little plumbing things..... all the trim is fit and clips etc installed, ready for final installation. Waiting on a pile of black AN fittings and plumbing will be finished off..... just doing the overflow tanks and then the rad is done.... Almost there!!!

waynieZ 09-16-2011 09:22 AM

The coil covers work very weel with the intake. That motor sure does look nice in there.

64pontiac 09-16-2011 10:58 AM

Thanks! Once they are blasted they will match the blower nicely.

Most of the plumbing is done, and all the engine bay wiring is done. It may look like its not there, but it is!!

SkiDooRS 09-16-2011 05:02 PM

Coil covers

Tyler the coil covers look awesome can’t wait to the water jet snowmobile tunnel bracing you are creating for me LOL.

64pontiac 09-19-2011 03:40 PM

So it's official, the RS-V is going to be at SEMA!!!!! :willy: :theresa: :brix: :cheering:   :woot:

waynieZ 09-19-2011 03:52 PM

Congratulation's ! It will show well under those lights.

64pontiac 10-13-2011 07:17 PM

Sorry guys we have been soooooo busy getting this thing ready for sema.... talk about a crunch. First time I have felt this kind of pressure. Couple more pics , it really isn't as far off as it looks in the pictures. We aren't doing to bad, and should be pretty complete for SEMA. I have to get ready to make the drive too....... its going to be a lonely one thats for sure. All of my staff and my wife and son have to stay home and run the show, its just me and my machinist, and he is flying. On that note if anyone is going to be hangin around vegas we could use some friends!!

Also, thanks to Vintage Air for taking a shot at us and getting our car into the show. And also, gotta put a plug in for MODO Innovations. Got some their product last week and put it in the camaro, and let me tell you it was one of the nicest kits as far as fit, quality, kit contents, ease of install, and overall package that I have seen for a small independant. Awesome job!

Got the gauge cluster together.....we had to axe the caddy stuff in it, no way to make it work. But all in all, its tough to tell the difference!

Ok back to work now

waynieZ 10-13-2011 07:57 PM

The car is looking great, I love the gauges.

64pontiac 10-13-2011 08:17 PM

Thanks. They are speedhut gauges and plx devices.... we have been using speedhut for a couple projects....nice product

GoolsbyCustoms 10-13-2011 08:19 PM

Looking foward to seeing this thing in person , me and Jonathan will be out in Vegas all week if you get into any trouble or need anything give me a call

Wow, thanks for the compliments, I really appreciate it.

bonecrrusher 10-15-2011 08:45 AM

Where you not able to get the V gauges working because of time?

Theres been a few swaps that have gotten the 04-06 GTO cluster to work by using the BCM as well in the swap.

waynieZ 10-15-2011 02:38 PM

Who's digital tail lights did you use?

64pontiac 10-16-2011 01:50 PM

The tail lights are marquez with spahgetti engineering led cards.

Ok the new 09/10 gauges are 100% Can-bus communication with the factory bcm and ecm in the caddy. Since we are using a MAST ecu and TCI TCU the caddy bcm is only doing the stereo switching etc. There was NO way to get the right signal to the BCM to then send it to the gauge cluster. Not any way I could figure anyways. I think our gauge cluster is actually going to be cooler than the caddy's anyway, and most people don't even realize the new gauges?

Getting close here

64pontiac 10-17-2011 06:30 AM

Some updates from the weekend work.

Exhaust is done. everything under the car is done. Lizard skin and Dynamat done. Carpet trimmed now. Interior wiring 95% done. Interior going in as soon as I get the door panels back from the "slow-polsterer".

Congrats on SEMA Tyler. It's certainly a unique build which ain't easy when you're building a '69 as we all know.

What else will be done to the gas cap?

RECOVERY ROOM 10-17-2011 09:24 AM

I'll have to look it up at Sema

64pontiac 10-17-2011 08:04 PM

I put socket head cap screws in a radial pattern around the cap (and all the caps under the hood too, they match the gas cap) so that the cap matches the ring brother door handles, kind of.

The center of the cap and the center of the bezel are medai blasted like the inside of the marquez tail lights....... we DIDnt recess the cap into a pocket to perfectly match the tail lights because we were trying to think outside the box, ie sell the cap to someone else or use it on any of our customer's camaros without body mods, and you gotta leave room for improvement on the next one right?

64pontiac 10-17-2011 08:06 PM

Tracy if you are around at SEMA and we get a chance to bump into one another, I would love to chat about some possibilities for the future..... completely fed up with our only alternatives up here.

64pontiac 10-17-2011 08:15 PM

http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_6037.jpg

Got the column done and all the features functioning......gotta love the 4 way power tilt/tele

http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_6040.jpg

The lexus push button we use with the RFID keyless entry system that we are using on alot of stuff

Coil covers went on for the last time
http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_6045.jpg

http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_6048.jpg

Please dont say anything about our dipstick!!! If you guys know of any fast pre done handles for it (other than a lokar, they take me forever to get up here) then I am more than open, with the last bunch of stuff I have to machine I highly doubt I will have any time to make a custom handle.....

Oh and the oil filler matches the gas cap!

wellis77 10-18-2011 12:34 AM

Hey Tyler,
Can you share a bit about the RFID keyless entry? Is this an oem product you've adapted to your builds, is it an aftermarket kit? Thanks.

64pontiac 10-18-2011 06:14 AM

It's an aftermarket kit that comes out of canada. Very well put together, fairly straightforward to install (if you do any alarm stuff the instructions and wiring diagrams always suck!) and it has a ton of features, such as auto window roll up etc.

The kit comes with two RFID key fobs that give you around 10 feet of range (you don't push any buttons, just walk up and it unlocks and powers up the push button switch) AND there is an emergency antenna/credit card transponder that you keep in your wallet in case you leave the key fob at the girlfriends?

Its a very nice kit and a good price. I have put three in, and keep a couple on the shelf.

Just discovered this thread/build. I can fully appreciate what work it took to get that dash and column in there and fitting like it does. Some really nice attention to detail - keep it coming guys!

Tyler

Standout build.

Sorry to hear about the painter issues tho' especially at this late date.

64pontiac 10-22-2011 07:20 PM

It has taken this guy over a year to get me the damn hood painted. Absolutely useless.

I know the problem too........ we asked for a certain paint code. Arsehead went and changed the paint a bit, ie. he mixed in a pearl in his clear as far as we can tell, AND used another orange as a base coat..... long and the short of it is that I think he played mad scientist with his mixing and did not record anythign, and now he is having a bitch of a time trying to get it to match.

Last January was our cutoff date to switch to waterbourne in Manitoba, and he bought the paint prior.... now he is running out and has no way of matching it.

Why did he not paint our handmade hood when he painted the car you ask?????? well he thought he could do better than us/didnt like our style and decided to go against our wishes and paint a fiberglass hood. Now it is a complete f*** up etc etc.

Anyways, what are you gonna do?
