Is that a Camaro over there?

Anyway, I'm guessing Marquez front valance. Me like.

Thanks guys. We're on the home stretch now and the car should be moving from BOS up to Eric Thorsen for the interior soon. Alchemy will then be complete!!

I'm really excited now. Two weeks ago Jean, my wife, bought herself a 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 Hemi 6-speed manual. She let's me drive it every now and then. Just got done teaching Trevor (13) how to drive a stick. Great day to learn. Lots of big empty parking lots. Just don't tell Jean.

I'm really wanting to drive my Camaro now. I'm not wearing the pants in the family if I'm not driving my own muscle car.

Yes sir. That's a very nice Garnet Red 69. Not a PT car but it hauls ass. I shoulda removed the cover for the pics. Jon and Jesus color sanded and buffed it. Really looks nice.

Yes! That would be awesome. You should to just to see who is better.Wish I could take the Mustang out there to give you a little buyer's remorse, lol.

Oh and Bryan, if it is an all years show, make sure to just register the Challenger for the show. It is cheaper than getting tickets for both days and paying for parking.

Matt

Bryan - I love the story and your build. Congrats on the progress... you are almost there. By the looks of the shop you are in very good hands. Cant wait to see it completed.

Bryan O 12-16-2011 01:07 PM

more updates...

Please excuse my horrible photography skills.

Jesus did a great job fitting the carbon fiber rear spoiler:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...r/IMAG0107.jpg

Eric did a great job installing the DSE anti-roll bar(aka sway bar):

And I did a great job installing some cool aluminum lug nuts.

Engine mounted. Tranny and headers installed:

I'll be putting on different fuel rails, a Katech coil relocation kit, and new GMPP valve covers soon.

waynieZ 12-16-2011 01:41 PM

You must be pumped being this close! Very Nice...

Ron in SoCal 12-16-2011 03:46 PM

Looks great Bry. I have not seen how the rear DSE bar looks installed - I still have to put mine on. Seems like it could be one of the lowest parts of the undercarriage?

tones2SS 12-19-2011 05:15 PM

Great updates! Looking good.

Thanks guys. Yep, definitely pumped Wayne. Soon. :woot:

Ron, that is in fact the lowest part of the undercarriage. Not as problematic as low pipes though. On that note, I should do well with the Hookers. A benefit with the DSE transmission crossmember allows for the exhaust to be placed significantly closer to the body of the car. See the above pic. Thanks for the advice.

Bryan O 12-21-2011 06:37 PM

I don't know what I was thinking with the black headlight doors. :_paranoid Gonna paint them body color asap.

But, I sure do like the Marquez bumper and lower valence.

Richio1 12-21-2011 09:56 PM

Looks awesome Bryan. It's great to see the updates. I love the Marquez bumper & valance too. I hope mine turn out as nice.

I agree on the body color headlight doors. Any target completion date?

Shooting for Good Guys Scottsdale. It will get done when its done. I'd rather do it right than do it quickly.

The only one more eager than me to drive their car is D!ck. :)

Thanks guys!

Got the headlight doors painted body color. Looks much better. Jesus pulled his hair out trying to fit the passenger side headlight door. He's gonna tweak it some more. Those things are a biotch to get right.

Here's some pics of Alchemy cathin' some rays.

tones2SS 12-27-2011 04:57 PM

That looks killer. Very nice.

Bryan O 01-30-2012 06:34 PM

We've made some progress lately.

All the trim pieces have been rechromed and polished. They look great. Can't provide any pics yet because they're still wrapped.

The fuel lines have been completed and Trevor installed new fuel rails and a fuel pressure gauge. He also fit the hood louvers onto the hood which required some tweaking.

Dick found a nice silicon reducer to connect the throttle body to the fresh air intake. It wasn't easy. The diameter goes from 4 1/2 inches on the TB to 4 inches on the FAI and not many around with that combo.

I really like the fresh air intake setups on both Matt's car and Greg's car. So I copied aspects of both of them. I'll post pictures later. Gonna paint the dual air intake tubes body color. :woot:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...y/DSCN0999.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...y/IMAG0237.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...d/IMAG0199.jpg

We used Marquez CID badges for the fender emblems:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...s/IMAG0217.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...s/IMAG0216.jpg

Trevor and I are now working on the Anvil closeout panel. We wet sanded it and are going to paint, color sand and polish it. That ought to be fun. Jon cringes when I tell him were gonna be painters.

NvrDun71 01-30-2012 06:45 PM

What valve covers are those? I like the clean look without the coil brackets

Thanks. I like them, too. And they're cheaper than going with the Katech coil relocation kit. Stever Rupp suggested I look into getting a set.

Holley valve covers. Part #241-91. http://www.holley.com/241-91.asp

We'll see Ron. Trev said the same thing. So we divided it into halves. One side Trev's. One side mine. May the best man (or boy  ) win.

I'm going to tell you one last time not to paint. I heard they put something in the paint over at BOS. It makes people grumpy :_paranoid .

Matt

tones2SS 01-31-2012 05:15 PM

Looking good man!

Bryan O 02-11-2012 04:08 PM

the final push begins in a couple of days...

Ron Davis radiator and fans, glass, drive shaft, fresh air intake, Borla exhaust, DSE wiper assembly and Optima battery all due to be installed in the next couple weeks. We've got some wiring and chrome plating that needs to be finished as well.

Lots more pics coming soon.

Inspired by Jamess113, Trevor and I cleaned, media blasted and painted the window hardware. It was very easy to remove the gunk using dichloromethane.

Thanks Wayne. Not quite as sexy as working on brakes like you're doin'. But, I really wanted to get them cleaned up. Especially after I saw Jay's post and pictures. Eric put them to good use today.

All the glass except the windshield was installed. Eric's still gonna tweak the fitment of the door and quarter glass.
