My wife asked me the kind of question a guy just can’t say no to! Do you wanna come home and……………… take the Camaro out?!
We were blessed with an amazing 45 degree December day. I really thought the nice weather days were gone till spring. Forecast for later in the week is in single digit lows and nothing above freezing in the foreseeable future… When she first texted me this afternoon I was about to make a parts delivery to one of our jobsites and didn’t have anyone else to make the run. She said the car didn’t fire at first so I ran home to check it out. Really thought the cruise wasn’t gonna happen since this was the first drive since I redid the wiring and replaced the fuel line. Thankfully it fired right up for me. I watched it for a bit while it warmed up. All systems looked good so gave Beth the green light to head out while I made the delivery. When I got back to the office she stopped by to pick me and we went for a nice cruise in the country and around town. Made a couple “spirited” pulls and had a some fun as well. Definitely a great way to spend a nice afternoon with my wife! Still have a project punch list to wrap up this winter but thankfully nothing that will stop us from driving it next year. Here’s to a short winter! Spring can’t come soon enough! Snapped a quick pic when she pulled up to our office. http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/IMG_3481.jpg     |
Only better question to that would have been "Do you want to take the Camaro out… to a secluded spot high on the hill overlooking the city"
HAHAHAHAHA |
That's awesome Ed.
Sounds like a keeper! :) |
very cool! Glad you guys were able to get the car out and go drive together
|
Thanks guys! Yeah, she's a keeper for sure! :woot:
|
Big smile on her face. You done Good!
|
Thanks Wayne!
Good thing we made it out Monday. As of Tuesday night we’re now in full fledge hibernation mode. :disgusted: :badidea: :( :thmbsdwn: http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a..._102947851.jpg |
Very cool backstory with the car, I like that you two continue to enjoy it and improve on it. I really like your color choice also; very clean car.
I feel your pain with this weather, every year I wonder why I live where I do! |

Beth absolutely loves the dark blue. Even bought matching nail polish. She really gets a kick out of cruising alone. People get excited seeing a cool old car driving around town. They’re always surprised it’s a girl driving. Then their minds are blown when they find out it’s a manual trans and has a 600hp BBC under the hood. Yeah, -20+ wind chills can really make a guy reconsider his living arrangements! |
Too funny ED! My sister bombs around in the '69 Camaro - big blower sticking out of the hood -- and people are blown away it's a SHE driving…
AND she's not afraid to get on it! Well -- not like WE do but she'll still get after it. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/file-142.jpg |
That car is an attention getter for sure! You did a nice job sprucing it up.
Beth said she had some fun with the car before picking me up. I was a bit nervous sending her out alone since we hadn't put miles on after fixing the electrical/fuel leak problem. I am extremely happy that it was a successful voyage. Having the car ready for her to hop in and go have some fun is exactly what I wanted to accomplish. |
I just saw this thread for the first time....awesome work! Love your dedication on working through the gremlins that we deal with in this hobby. And I know it was a few years ago, but hope your trip to The Big Isle was a blast....Saddle road had a new bypass opened a few months ago that eliminates most of the "sketchy" areas.:excited:

This was a cool thread!! My wife wants to do a camaro like this as well!
Any updates on the car? How's it running? How's the baby (I'd imagine 2 by now right?)? |

Our baby (Jacob) referenced earlier in the thread is now 3 ½ and is joined by his little brother Alex who’s 3 months. Time sure flies! Jacob loves riding in the Camaro. We strap his car seat in the center of the back seat and throw on some ear protection. He says “mommy’s Camaro is really fast!”. |
Get those kids hooked, young!
|
That's awesome Ed! My 14 month old loves hearing me start up my vette. I can't wait till she's big enough to ride in it.
The 11 and 8 year old already love it!! A family full of car nuts!!! |
