Perfect solution.

What a great shop you guys have and top work :hail:

Roadster Shop 05-20-2011 08:19 PM

Time for another update. This one is for the traditional hot rod guys. Here are a few shots of some other hot rod projects we currently have going on.

First is a 28 extended cab p/u on a custom 32 chassis we built. Flathead with a TKO 5-speed. This one is going to be a very traditional styled build.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...cture18786.jpg

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...cture18323.jpg

We also received the new Roush 342 for the 34 coupe and have begun some custom touches.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...cture18713.jpg

The customer wanted something other than the standard hot rod style tail lights so we fabbed these based off of a 37 Ford light.

A few new arrivals! I will be starting individual threads as they progress.

Wow some sweet stuff right there.

Roadster Shop 05-22-2011 10:42 AM

Thanks Wayne.

Here is an update on a truck that we built about 4 years ago. Mike was looking to get a little more power out of the big block under the hood. We decided on a small Weiand blower to give it a little extra help and still work with all of the accessories that were currently on the engine.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...FORD-01-HR.jpg

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...cture16982.jpg

We fabbed up an aluminum air cleaner/scoop to dress up the engine compartment.

I think I wet myself....

Sweet..... Love those trucks. Used to have a nice one... and I miss it.

Jr 05-22-2011 12:52 PM

That truck is hot sh*t! I love the floor in the bed! That bumper is pretty sweet, too.

Roadster Shop 05-23-2011 07:25 AM

Thanks guys. This truck is still one of my favorite builds. It has a lot of cool metal work that you wouldn't realize until it was next to a stock truck.

boonedog 05-23-2011 07:52 AM

is the model a cab one that the aussies are building?

Roadster Shop 05-23-2011 09:49 AM

Yeah, it is the Australian cab with a Brookville bed.

boonedog 05-23-2011 11:22 AM

hows quality and pricing on them?

Roadster Shop 05-23-2011 04:20 PM

Not sure on the pricing. The customer purchased the cab and bed himself and had it shipped to us. The quality of the cab seems to be pretty nice. We have not really got into any metal work on it yet, but the fit and finish appears to be well done.

tones2SS 05-23-2011 05:29 PM

Wow, you guys do amazing work. Keep us posted.

Painted bumpers. Matte charcoal on the diffuser section of the bumper.

We removed the license plate recess on the front bumper and reshaped the openings to give it a better look.

Any update on this chevelle build?

2009 M3 - Full carbon fiber wide body kit, and painted the car matte green. (Not our choice, but it actually turned out pretty sick when it was completed.)

2008 M6 - Carbon hood, lower splitter, and rear spoiler. 2-toned the top of the car black.

What color green is on the BMW? Never mind stupid question.

Roadster Shop 07-18-2011 11:47 AM

Garick - we haven't touched the Chevelle in quite some time. Have had too much going on with customer cars to touch our own build.

OrangeVert - We custom mixed that green to get what the owner was looking for. We started with a GM production color and then kept tinting it and spraying different levels of matte clear to get the desired color. That is one color that I never thought anyone would be asking for the paint code on! Unless that was a sarcastic question on your part.

I didn't realize that was your car. Well hell, there is no sense in letting those nice custom bumpers go to waste. I know of a car they would look sweet on....MINE!!:D :D Anyways congrats on another SMOTY, it was well deserved.

We are hoping to have it out to upholstery by the end of March.

Hay Phil, question when you guys do your fire wall smoothing, what gauge metal to you use?? I am going to be cutting mine out soon on my 69 and was thinking 16 gauge but thought I would use the beed roller to stifen it up. I the one on the Chevelle is all smooth, looks sweet

Any pictures of that yellow Jeep Comanche (not really sure?) ? It looks pretty cool, and I love the Speed '33 with the slat nose in the background of the second picture.

I think its a Ford Bronco

Bronco 2 was a bit narrow.....
My uncle and older brother had several broncos like above. Lots of good memories blasting around in the mud and trails.

elitecustombody 07-24-2011 04:30 PM

Phil, what clear did you guys use on the flat green M3?

Roadster Shop 07-25-2011 02:52 PM

That is a '76 Bronco in the background. Nothing special, I built it way back when I was in high school.

tones2SS 07-25-2011 05:29 PM

Great updates. Very nice build.
That color is killer!

Roadster Shop 08-04-2011 08:45 PM

Things have been pretty busy around the shop and I've been slacking on this thread. In addition to completing the Nova for Columbus, we have also been running wide open on several other areas.

The body work and prep was wrapped up on the 55 Nomad and we sprayed the body this week. The rest of the parts are going into the booth and the cut and buff will begin on the main body. Chassis has been assembled and ready to go under the body as well.

Another cool project that we are just about wrapping up is a bitchen' Nova Gasser. This was originally a PHR cover car back in 1973. The majority of the components remain original to the car. We are making a few refinements for drivability and safety but it will otherwise appear basically as it did in the early 70's.

A copy of the original cover and article.

My bet is on a space ship. The Nova was probably just a testbed. Clearly the sky is the limit for these guys
