Edit:
I found it earlier in your thread.

When you get them mounted I'd love to see the width at the widest part measurement.

I will be glad to do that. It will probably be 2-3 weeks before they are mounted. If you don't hear from me in a few weeks you are welcome to email me at [email protected].

Can someone help change the tail panel to matte black and the wheel centers to gunmetal grey and black as well. It would be much appreciated!

Ummgawa 01-24-2014 03:28 PM

This car is as nice as Jody's Chevelle. I love a 66 Super Sport and yours is wicked. Excellent detail dude.

1badsc 01-24-2014 06:48 PM

the wheels are a little dark hope this helps ...very slick chevelle for sure http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j7...elleyggygg.png

Different color but same tone with Smoked Titanium centered Rushforths......hope this helps. I went back and forth about the black panel and ultimately put it back to match the body. You car is awesome by the way!!!

Rick Giles 01-25-2014 04:55 PM

Thanks guys for all of your help!! I think it just looks meaner with the darker wheels and tail panel although I will probably keep her just like she is. Maybe when boredom sets in it will be time for a change.

Is this the ride height with the DSE kit? If so, do you feel you need more shock travel with it set this low? How's the ride?
Thanks

The wheels are Fikse 18x9 in front and 18x10 in rear. Will be running BFG Rival 275 in front and 295 in rear.

Sorry for the slow response. Have not been on here in a while and am not receiving email notification and not sure why. Anyone know how to fix that?

jarhead 05-19-2014 06:10 PM

Glad this came to the top, I enjoyed reading the build.

What an awesome car. As everyone else has stated love the color too.

The twin turbo is just amazing!

No problem, your right on time..... Just getting ready to order my wheels and tires.... My exact size plan and tire brand!!!

waynieZ 05-19-2014 08:56 PM

I love this car. My first car was a 66 SS but the paint you scraped off the bottom of yours was better than any part of the one I had and that was in 1972!
Awesome build!!

Rick Giles 05-22-2014 03:51 AM

WaynieZ, that's funny! This car spent it's whole life in a garage in California, thank goodness. Plus she only has 50,400 miles on her.

Thanks for all of the votes on the color as well. Seems like most people like it but some don't.

In the middle of more fabrication and tweeking but soon to start all of the paint work for under the hood. Hope to fire her up in the next couple of months. Been working on her for 4 years!

Evaporate 08-20-2014 01:32 PM

Your car just makes me-----> :hail:

Leadfoot1 08-21-2014 05:25 PM

Wow!

Just went thru the whole thread. What a ride!!!

Its almost enough to get me ready to jump into tne fire and tear mine down....

Almost.

Seriously, it takes some guts to tear an almost done car and refinish (i really dont think that word is enough but thats all i have for the moment lol!!) everything to the next level!!!

Hat off to you man, very, very, nice!!

Lead.

Rick Giles 09-25-2014 10:12 AM

I'm very glad to announce that we fired the car this past weekend for the first time in 4 plus years! Looks like we have some interference with the dual sync distributor and Holley Dominator ECU and trying to put our finger on it. Stay tuned...

syborg tt 09-25-2014 01:51 PM

That is great news :gitrdun:

We've stayed.... But the pics have yet to show up.

Just sayin'

Lead.

Trackman 09-25-2014 05:28 PM

Great, now it will drive into my trailer under its own power now!

I have intermittent interference as well with my Holley efi set up but only after 5500rpm. The cable that connects to your laptop doesn't want to be anywhere near the distributor.

WSSix 09-26-2014 05:45 PM

That's great news. Congrats!

You should fly down and drive it back as soon as we get all of the bugs worked out!:drive:

Yesterday we found a wire in the wrong place and might be able to get it fired again this afternoon.

Well yesterday didn't work out to be a work on Chevelle day but here are a few pics of the new sneakers...

LowNfast 10-01-2014 12:04 PM

You have done an amazing job with the car, looks awesome!

What are you doing with the invo's? Im in the market for some 18's

tones2SS 10-01-2014 04:35 PM

Looking really good Rick.

Rick Giles 10-01-2014 04:46 PM

Thanks! The Invos are pretty old and they have never been on the road but have some damage on them. They would be good for mocking up or easy driving.

Rick Giles 01-11-2016 08:53 AM

Selling the transmission complete out of this girl to upgrade to a Tremec Magnum if you know anyone interested. She has a T56 that is listed in the classified section.

Rick,
Any mods to the rear to fit that rim and tire? I have been sold on those specs now for quite a while. Thanks in advance. Top quality build brother!
