Looks great Phillip

GregWeld 09-04-2012 06:51 PM

Not knowing what it looked like "the first time" --- I'll just take a guess that you weren't happy with it. Good for you! It takes a lot of stones to be able to stand back after putting a lot of work into something and say ----- shizel..... I can do that better. I applaud you for that!

syborg tt 09-04-2012 06:53 PM

Don't feel bad we did 3 or 4 on the truck.

As for your firewall I think this is one of the nicest I've seen

GregWeld 09-04-2012 06:53 PM

scrolled back to see what you did before vs now --- Yeah buddy! Looks good!

UPDATE 12-07-12: It's a late update, After I sold my 1st subframe I was conteplating what other Frame I wanted to go with...I was really considering a DSE unit but my budget at the time was not allowing me....I then asked a Vendor here about his new frame and that I was very interested. We both agree on price and the time of build....Basically that was a total waste of my time and it held back my progress :willy:  After that mess I called up Scott Mock that I was really interested in his new design frame and that I wanted it asap....Well It was NO surprise to me how well Scott Mock takes care of his customers...After Payment was sent, I had my New Frame at my Door in 3 weeks   All I can say is that This New Frame is piece art...Excellent quality work by Scott.

Here's a few pics with engine in place,I will also add that my Kooks 1-7/8 headers fit perfectly with excellent ground clearance....They are actually even with the frame rails :hail:

I really like how the lines in the firewall line up nicely with the Motor.

Very Nice Build Phil, First Off, I always perk up when I see Fresno anywhere, as I was born and raised in the NO or Fresburg what ever they are calling it these days. I left in 92 for service, college, and now reside north of seattle, but always try to go back once a year to soak up some central valley sunshine, a trip to pine flat or Kings River for a V drive boat ride.

A matter of fact my 69 camaro was earned by working after scool and weekends for at my grandfathers carlot back in the day on old hwy 41 near caruthers. Old Airplane on top of small gas station.

Didnt mean to thread jack. But Nice Progress on the build.

I recently made a transaction with Scott to secure one of his subframes. And have been pondering which way to go for the rear suspension. I will be watching closely on your exhaust set up, as that was my concern with exhaust.

Keep up the great work.

Born in Los Angeles but raised in Fresno.....What I like about this town is that im only 2hrs away from a Beach and 1hr away from the beautiful view of yosemite......Other than the Bad Summer heat and cold winters, Its a Nice place live......You wont be dissapointed with Scott's frame.I'm using DSE's quadralink with a little tweaking to get my proper ride height....I'm also in the middle of gathering all my 3" exhaust parts for test fitting.

Thanks for the comments

cencalc6 09-09-2013 01:36 PM

UPDATE! Guys I'm giving up on this project...Too many things going on and I just don't have the time to work on it....It was a fun and learning experience.

As of right now I'm parting out the car, so look out for the classifieds for smoking deals.

Thanks Guys! everything is great, just I need a little extra cash to open up a small mechanic shop....I'm constantly working on other cars and never have time to work on mine.

GregWeld 09-09-2013 07:56 PM

WOW!! So sorry to hear this -- but I'm happy that you're going to start your own business! Good for you! Make it grow and then have someone else build you a car because you're too busy making so much money you don't have the time!
