Looking great!
I knew those where out of a Grand Prix - I had a '99 GTP for a number of years. I kind of miss it but alas LS v8 > L67 v6 haha. |

Classic Performance 2" drop spindles and tubular A-arms. Stock steering. Front springs are stock length 6 cyl springs. Rear: 17x9.5 wheels with 275-50-17's Mini tubbed out to frame rails. Mono leaf springs moved in. Frame rails narrowed for tire clearance. Narrowed rear end with Moser axles. That's a general description. Sure can give any more details if you need. Thanks for the comments! |

Met the goal in making it to Kansas City Good Guys over Labor Day weekend.
:goodguys: Finished at 11pm Thursday night and left Friday morning. Pretty much stayed "On Target" towards original intent of balancing "level of build, ability, time in the shop, with family, and $ input" Level of build: did add some extra there in level of finish work. Ability: Gained a lot of understanding/respect in what it takes to get the body fairly straight. Time in the shop: Over ran budget on that one. $ input: Resisted several temptations to buy and upgrade more. Instead stayed on target by working with what I had and being content there. With family: Well, did make it to most of the family activities. If I think I did well here, it was because of my wife's patience during the project. Then to top it all off at the end finishing up - I FORGOT MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY on Labor Day. Enough said. LOVE YOU HONEY! Let's go out for a ride in "our" Chevy II. http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMG_73051.jpg http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMG_72941.jpg http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMG_73071.jpg http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/...I/IMG_7558.jpg http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/...I/IMG_7559.jpg |
amazing attention to detail.
How did the AC and insulation work? I might have to go back and add the foam you have on top to mine. |
What a great thread and AMAZING car! It looked great before, but you definitely took it to a whole new level. Thanks for sharing!

The car looks incredible - Great Job

Very nice. That car looks great and the paint looks killer!
Any interior pics? |

AC worked great. Able to set the AC thermostat about 2/3, so the AC clutch would cycle off quite a bit of the time. Cycling the AC off also kept heat off the radiator. Insulate everything you can and seal all the gaps. It's too hard to bail out a leaking boat. There are other good material options to use also. Happy with the combination used on this build. Also pleased with noise level. Not bad at all but still get a comfortable level of exhaust music. Looking up info on "Hot Rod Drag Week" - saw a video with one of the cars going down the road and holding a pizza box out the window to deflect some air inside :D . After they stopped, it showed them with an infra red thermometer showing over 180° off the floor. Better insulate well. |

Check out post #103 on page 11 for some interior pics. Still need to build a console. Anyone have a '62 - '65 Nova hood that I could get about a 12" strip out of the middle? Planning to fab a console using that raised hood strip. If you have a hood that can be cut up, send me a pm. Thanks, Jim |
