Payton King 07-22-2011 05:55 AM

I am not going to lie

I am diggin' it a pretty good bit.

Scott, at the rate I am going it may fall before I am driving. LOL Hopefully it will be on the ground by next friday. Still waiting on exhaust from coaters.

BBC71Nova 07-22-2011 07:52 AM

Fantabulous! I think that one hasn't been worn out yet and is still available for use :). Hoping maybe when I come back up that way I can check out the finished product.

Rick D 07-22-2011 06:08 PM

Hay Payton, I know you said your rear end is set up to run stock size Corvette wheels, so if I could ask want width is your rear?? I am looking at doing the same thing with my 69 Camaro also what sub frame are you using?? Thanks for the info.

Cris@JCG 07-22-2011 06:38 PM

I want to see it on the ground! Looks great

Payton King 07-25-2011 07:20 AM

believe it or not

the width is extremely close to a stock 69. 59 inches and I am running small spacers on each side to dial in the exact spacing (1/4 to 1/2). I can get the the measurement of my spacers this week for a total width. Rims are 19x12.5 with a +53 mm offset.

I want to see it on the ground as well

user667 07-25-2011 10:58 AM

my regulator, so it was recessed into the tank

Payton,

The Camaro is looking killer!

Why did Dan lay UPOL down before the Raptor?

Payton King 08-03-2011 10:00 AM

I would assume

as an extra layer of protection from rust.

coolwelder62 08-03-2011 02:34 PM

Payton,Look's awesome.  Man I love that shade of yellow.:D Scott M.

slenning 08-03-2011 03:07 PM

BTW, Like the cat print, too bad it got covered up

waynieZ 08-03-2011 06:25 PM

It looks great Payton, getting close!

Payton King 08-04-2011 07:16 AM

Hoping it will be home by next week

Just a little assembly left. Everything is back from the coaters, I put the headers on last Friday.

Need to run new rear brake line, re-route a fuel line and build a new sub box and I should be good to go.

Missed a lot of events this year, plan to hit them all next year.

Rybar 08-04-2011 10:34 AM

What do you need a sub box for when you have a built LS to listen to :unibrow:

He need's a place to keep those sub sandwhich's fresh while heading to the car show.

Payton King 08-04-2011 12:14 PM

I guess because I still think I am 16

Had one in there before and with the trunk change, the old box will not fit. I still keep telling myself this is a pro-touring car and not a race car. I debated long and hard whether to put one back in the car. About 60 lbs of box, sub and amp. Then I figured that an extra 60 lbs is not going to make or break any time I lay down at any track.

You are right, the car is so loud I did not have enough power or the right gear to really hear it when I was cruising. I have 800w going to a new 10 inch sub now...should be able to hear it (for short periods)

There is a 90% chance that I will make the box/sub and amp removable as a unit for when I am feeling really racy. More to come on that later

Looks great Payton.

PS: Forget the "stereo" -- the true stereo is the exhaust note.... :D

Payton King 08-09-2011 08:23 AM

Oh, I can promise my car is plenty loud

Still debating on the stereo

Floater with the e-brake going together

The bottom of the car is going to be unbelievable with that yellow paint. (as usual) I would defiantly put the stereo stuff back in it.

Payton King 08-15-2011 09:56 AM

Car is getting closer and closer. Ran into a few issues

But they are sorted out and I should be bringing the car home this friday. I will then only need to run a new rear brake line and fuel line to be able to drive the car. Stereo is going back in. Here are few updates. Recessed the fuel regulator in the tank and had it coated black. Rest of the stuff is in the car and waiting on some fittings for the calipers to clear the shocks.

Before anyone tells me that my calipers are

upside down. They were thrown on as a mock up. They have been corrected.

It looked like I was going to have all sorts of room when nothing was bolted up. There is all sorts of stuff going on in a small space. I cannot say enough about the work that Dan has done.

70rs 08-15-2011 10:04 AM

The bottom side of your car looks better than the top side of every car I saw at a local show saturday. VERY NICE!!!!!

Jay Hilliard 08-15-2011 10:40 AM
